Good action, interesting storyline but..

I enjoyed this book very much, it was full of twists and odd characters with dark hidden secrets. It kept my interest right through to the end. I haven't found a Fens book I didn't like. I do have one complaint and it may sound a bit petty to someone else however, The book kept referring to a Atheemee or Aseemee and I was puzzled, it took me a while to figure out that narrator was mispronouncing Athame' and it drove me a bit nuts every time it happened.

Another well-written book! I was not expecting the ending and was delighted by the twisting plot!

Best DI Galena book yet!

We’ve heard all the Nikki Galena books in sequence and have like this one the most yet. As always Joy Ellis kept us guessing until the very end. Highly recommend.

Another good listen

If you have listened to other books in this series, it is very similar in story and performance. Although it was somewhat predictable at times, it was still very entertaining.

So many twists and turns. very fun very good story; One of the best. Enjoyed it.

Lots of twists

The story was not at all predictable! The only problem was that there did not seem to be the same sense of urgency about finding the missing girl once it was thought that she might still be alive! That was a faux pas. Otherwise you were kept guessing until the end. Great story!

Good story, but…

Good twists and turns, but I also HATED when they mispronounced “athame’. It drove me nuts. I found myself saying it out loud correctly every time the word was used. Other than that, I really enjoyed the story.

Best of the Fens series

I have read all of the earlier books on the Fens. This was the best book of the whole Fens series!

I enjoyed this book. I love the characters and the author’s ability to come up with unusual stories. On to the next one…

Always a great mystery

I thought I had untangled this one and knew whodunit but ms Ellis had other ideas lol. I only figured out one small part that turned out to be so much more involved than I could’ve contrived. I always enjoy reading her books
