Re •sent •ment
The act of hating - no, f--king loathing Dean Collins. (Yes, I'm well aware that's not the actual definition, but it might as well be....)
It's been 10 years since we've seen each other, and the feelings are still as strong.
I'm not going to bore you with all the details of how our love was once intoxicating, consuming, and perfect.
Because it was...until it wasn't.
I've been fine without him. I haven't missed his cruelty, his coldness, and his spite. And after the ugliest breakup in the history of breakups, I forced myself to move on. Year by year, the feelings I had for him slowly drifted away, but one encounter with him recently changed everything. One encounter made me realize how the heart doesn't forget shit and how my mind is going to have to work overtime to make sure I never forget my definition of resentment.

ok
This was over all a good book I just really wished it would have at a better ending. There could have been so much more added to the book around the ending to make it better.

Disappointing
1. The female character’s narrator was fine in small doses but started to grate on me, becoming more annoying the longer I listened and it probably did affect my overall enjoyment/rating.
2. The reason for the blame, resentment and mistreatment of the heroine by the H was a bit ridiculous. I found it very hard to buy into regardless of how the H supposedly perceived things. It made it really difficult to like the guy and root for them as a couple - even after finding out why he reacted the way that he did.
3. I love angsty books that rip your heart out before piecing it back together (and the story did have some of that) but the way things ended up playing out left me a bit flat.
4. I thought that the story had the potential to be so much better. I’ll probably try reading another book by this author at some point in the future

Almost 5 stars
I loved this story except for one very important thing. I thought maybe his father was messing with their messages or something other than the interception of the birthday card and balloons. I know he was hurting and not sure what to do, but it wasn’t her fault that he didn’t tell her. What he did to her is no comparison to what he thought she was doing to him. She tried to talk to him and ask him what was wrong. He didn’t even try. I’m glad they had there HEA but he got off the hook to easily. You would think that when she asked him years later what happened he would just say it. I had a best friend once who all of a sudden got very angry with me and stopped speaking to me. I asked her what was wrong and she just said “you know “. To this day I still don’t know what I did. I wish there had been someone interfering with their communication. It would have been easier to except his being a jerk.

Incredible narrators!
I really loved this story! It's an enemies to lovers/second chance with a hint of Bully as well. Despite some of his actions I absolutely loved Dean!! loved loved loved him and his persistence. These two narrators were perfect for these characters and are some of my new faves!

ANNOYED
Ok, I don’t know if this is PMS induced, but , Dean humiliated, disrespected and acted like a total douche, and I wanted Mia to give it back. Like telling her brother how he treated her, Or maybe engage with guys at party, or being a guy home to hang out with, INSTEAD OF WATCHING AND STEWING OVER HIM. Give him hell girl! WTF

Good, not great.
By the end, I really could not stand the female lead. It’s a good filler book, but prepare to be annoyed.

A high school love story that pulls you in
The narrator's are good. The story is an easy listen with a HEA. Spans over 11 years and the sex scenes are hot!

Where wad Edward Thomas?!
I loved dual POV but the post lied. Where was Edward Thomas? I deleted when I went to kindle to read and listen. It’s one POV and that’s Mia. Lauren did a good job but I don’t like one sided. Because of this, to me, I cannot connect with the main characters. You may like it, but not me!
