Tobias Kaya doesn't care about The Savior. He doesn't care that She's the ruler of the realm or that She purified the land, and he certainly doesn't care that She's of age to be married. But when competing for Her hand proves to be his last chance to save his family, he's forced to make The Savior his priority. Now Tobias is thrown into the Sovereign's Tournament with nineteen other men, and each of them is fighting - and killing - for the chance to rule at The Savior's side.

Story
It's every novelist's greatest fear: pouring their blood, sweat, and tears into writing hundreds of pages only to realize that their story has no sense of urgency, no internal logic, and so is a page-one rewrite. The prevailing wisdom in the writing community is that there are just two ways around this problem: pantsing (winging it) and plotting (focusing on the external plot).

What makes a romance novel a romance? Writing a well-structured romance isn't the same as writing any other genre - something the popular novel and screenwriting guides don't address. The romance arc is made up of its own story beats. But when competing for Her hand proves to be his last chance to save his family, he's forced to make The Savior his priority.

You want to write a nonfiction book that matters. Book readers love and rave about a book they underline, dog-ear, and highlight. How do you do that, when you’ve never written a book like that before, when you aren’t sure what content to include in a nonfiction book, or how to organize it? And when you’re not sure if your idea is worth pursuing in the first place? At the heart of the answers to all these questions is a craft created by A. J. Harper, ghostwriter and editor for some of the foremost thought leaders of our time.

What makes a romance novel a romance? Writing a well-structured romance isn't the same as writing any other genre - something the popular novel and screenwriting guides don't address. The romance arc is made up of its own story beats. Told in conversational (and often irreverent) prose, Romancing the Beat is like sitting down to coffee with romance editor and author Gwen Hayes while she explains story structure - the way she does with her clients, some of whom are regular inhabitants of the best-seller lists.

Story isn't just one way to persuade. It's the way. It's built into the architecture of the brain, and has been since early humans gathered around the camp fire, trying to figure out how to outsmart the lion next door. In Story or Die, story coach Lisa Cron sets out to decode the power of story, first by examining how the brain processes information, translates it into narrative, and then guards it as if your life depends on it.

Wish I had this when I first started writing.
This book covers every question you may be to afraid or lazy to ask as a new writer. I like the Short and to the point descriptions. It's very easy to follow along with. I recommend listening to this while skimming through parts of your manuscript. There is also tons of useful info on Jenna's YouTube. I'm excited for the next book in Saviors series. Let's shut and release it.

Very good overview of writing a book.
Solid book. The narrator was fine. I was just surprised the author didn't narrate it after watching (and listening to her voice) her on YouTube.

Clear and to the point
I enjoyed this book. Very clear, practical and to the point. Jenna's humor made it easy to digest and follow along. Narrator was a perfect choice, I forgot that it wasn't Jenna who's voice I was listening to. This book made me wish Jenna had a course to cover this topic.

This is a great introduction to the craft.
I have been watching Jenna's YouTube channel for years and even used many of her tips to complete my first Novella.
With all that said, I mean no offense when I tell you I learned nothing new.
I HIGHLY recommend this book to anybody new to writing
who needs a little direction.

Helpful and informative
This book was easy to get through. The author uses easy to understand language and has a sarcastic sense of humor making the reading experience enjoyable. It’s nice to read an author with personality. I also appreciated how the author identified aspects of writing I had not considered. A great read for newbies!
