Best seller in Hard Science Fiction and Science Fiction Adventure!
Scarred ex-soldier Booker takes a job on the gritty frontier world of Silverrock, managing security for an archeological dig. But when the huge scorpions that haunt the caverns attack the dig’s brilliant young linguist, Booker learns that the ruins hide more than broken crockery. For the future of humanity, Booker must protect the site long enough for Lucien to decipher its ancient inscriptions while fending off miners eager to extract the caves’ rare minerals. Most of all, he must keep their true mission secret.

Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Dr. Mick Strong has bought himself something unusual for his seventy-fifth birthday: a LifeTime projection. This new tech crunches data including your medical history, diet, and lifestyle to predict how much—or little—time you’ve got left. That’s all well and good, but he’s also bought them for his daughter, his grandchildren, and even his eleven-year-old great-grandson. He wants them each to wait until their next birthday to use the app. But whether they scoff at it, sneak an early look, desperately turn into a health nut, or die before their appointed time, the gift is wreaking havoc.

Ocean Yoon has never felt very Korean, even if she is descended from a long line of haenyeo, Jeju Island’s beloved female divers. She doesn’t like soju, constantly misses cultural references, and despite her love of the game, people still say that she doesn’t play Hwatu like a Korean. Ocean’s also persona non grata at the Alliance, Korea’s solar system-dominating space agency, since a mission went awry and she earned a reputation for being a little too quick with her gun.

Well written and engaging
Very good book. I’ll definitely be looking for more from this author. Story had a good flow and satisfying ending.
The virtual voice narration was a lot better than I expected. It was a little flat in some spots where you would expect more emotion but all in all good.
