My favorite Kerry Fisher book!

This book was amazing and held my attention from the beginning! I love stories about families and how things can be perceived differently by people attending the same event. Misunderstandings that could be solved by communication. Very good book and the narrator is amazing!

thought it was slow to pick up at the beginning but I quickly became absorbed. Raw truth from so many perspectives.

One More Example of Kerry Fisher’s Multifaceted and Spot On Characterizations

Loved this book as I’m reading through ALL of her books! She captures what I would consider post partum depression with empathy and a keen eye for detail. The combination of that with the capturing of the complex relationships with mothers and daughters kept me riveted. A great combination of laughs, tears, and rooting for the main character who grows through the hurdles in her life.

Unexpected Twists and Turns

A few things took me by surprise and the overall story kept me wanting to know where things were going. At times, I liked and disliked the main character throughout the book. I found myself blurting things out to encourage the Vicky to do what I thought she should do. Which meant I was getting very involved with the story. I couldn’t listen to this one slowly over the course of a couple weeks. I enjoyed it so much I had to finish it quickly to see what would happen next. I’m going to check out this author’s other books now.

I don't normally writte reviews but this book was to good not to

Fabulously written, kept me entertained and drawn into each character. A few unexpected twists threw me, just like in real life. I held back tears during a massage but sure they would have flowed had I been on my own. I felt sad when the book had ended so next stop is to look up other books by Kerry Fisher. I loved the narrator also. It is so hard to find a Narrator that you actually like but I could listen very happily to Emma Spurgin Hussey.

She never writes a! Bad book. Wonderful narration wonderful book. As someone who has estranged family, I was touched. I'll have no idea how to reach out so I understood Vicki's dilemma. Recommended!

I listen to audio books while I clean, and let me tell you, I've never gotten my kitchen clean so fast. I was so engulfed in the story, I didn't even realize that I was finding ways to continue reading. this is a wonderful story that kept me engaged the entire time.

Got better toward the end

At times, the story seemed to move slowly. In time the characters & their stories made more sense as the reader could see how their lives intertwined & affected each other.

Great book

I very much enjoyed this story, although sad in some parts. It gave me a very different t view on why some mothers feel they have to leave their children and on how important it is to keep in touch with family. One never knows what a separation from family will mean over time. Don’t put off what you know you should do because it may not be able to be undone.
