Our current definition of “productivity” is broken. It pushes us to treat busyness as a proxy for useful effort, leading to impossibly lengthy task lists and ceaseless meetings. We’re overwhelmed by all we have to do and on the edge of burnout, left to decide between giving into soul-sapping hustle culture or rejecting ambition altogether. But are these really our only choices?

At its core, time blocking is a potent scheduling tool that, when properly set up and adhered to, has the power to change the direction of its wielder's life. There are two major sections to this publication. Part one is all about time blocking and what it offers you, it will put you into the right mindset for creating schedules for yourself to begin dominating your life, and part two will show you the most efficient ways I have found to practically put together and structure your days in practice without missing things or unnecessarily wasting time.

Resumen del Editor
This program is read by the author.
The gloriously simple practice of choosing one thing to do, when to do it, and getting it done.
Every day, a billion knowledge workers wake up, gravitate towards a pixelated screen and process information for eight hours or more, facing an endless and bewildering array of work and life choices. We’re confronted with countless always-on options; untimely, unsolicited notifications; and a constant competition for our attention. This depletes our faculty for choosing the right things to do, leading millions to become perplexed, frazzled, anxious, or depressed.
Timeboxing by Marc Zao-Sanders is a comprehensive guide to carefully and intentionally selecting what to do, specifying start and finish times, focusing solely on that single activity, and getting it done to an acceptable standard within that timeframe. This is the fundamental, transcendent time-management practice; countless luminaries, from Carl Jung and Albert Einstein to Bill Gates and Steve Jobs, have employed some form of it in their daily lives. Zao-Sanders provides an informative and accessible look at every aspect of this revolutionary method–how to do it consistently, and how to do it well.
Timeboxing offers guidance on what you can, should, and will do at any given moment. This pragmatic and life-changing practice of intentional daily activity has been proven to yield what almost every human being wants most: a chosen, cherished life.

Reseñas de la Crítica
“A masterclass in intentional living. This book on timeboxing is essential for anyone seeking focus in a distracted world. I've long championed the benefits of timeboxing, and Marc’s book brings it to life."—Nir Eyal, bestselling author of Indistractable: How to Control Your Attention and Choose Your Life
“Timeboxing can help you get things done, but more importantly, it can help you do more of what you love and less of what you hate. Zao-Sanders will explain to you how timeboxing the stuff you have to do but don't want to do as well as the things you do want to do will help you get more pleasure and less tedium out of life. As you internalize the lessons of this exceptionally wise book, you’ll begin to feel the presence of a coach who’s there with you every step of the way.”—Kim Scott, author of Radical Candor
“Timeboxing is a delight. The book is interesting and practical. Each chapter serves a purpose. Best of all, the method really works. For over 30 years I’ve sought to optimize my work and my life. I thought I had things pretty much figured out. But then I read Timeboxing. The impact was immediate and dramatic. My new habit of timeboxing each morning has lifted me to a new level of focus, calm, and productivity. We all can benefit from more focus and more impact. That’s exactly what Timeboxing offers. The short chapters are well organized and easy to read. You can use the techniques immediately to boost productivity with less stress each day. If my Stanford students could read only one book this year, I’d want it to be Timeboxing by Marc Zao-Sanders.”—BJ Fogg, author of Tiny Habits

Procrastination is an almost universal human experience. While many people attribute procrastination to laziness or a lack of drive, our real motivations to push back and delay important activities and decisions are more complicated than personal weakness. The truth is that humans are well-adapted for basic survival, but they are not so great at managing the stresses and expectations of modern life without a little help.

That plastic version of faith isn’t actually faith; it’s unbelief. Healing What You Can’t Erase offers a far better solution—a road map for moving forward through the losses and scars by allowing the power of the Holy Spirit to transform us . . . spirit, soul, and body.

Having a seat at the table doesn’t mean that your voice is actually welcome. Knowing something is wrong doesn't mean it's easy to speak up. In fact, there are incentives for many of us to stay silent. Why speak up if you know that it won’t be received, and in fact, often makes things worse? In Unlearning Silence, Hering explores how we’ve learned to be silent, how we’ve benefited from silence, how we’ve silenced other people—and how we might choose another way.

Can beliefs make you sick? Consider "The June Bug" incident from a US textile factory in the early 1960s. Many employees began to feel dizzy, had an upset stomach, and vomited. Some were even hospitalized. The illness was attributed to a mysterious bug biting workers. However, when the CDC investigated this outbreak, no bugs or any other cause of the illnesses could be identified. Instead, it appears to be an illness caused by the mind -- that is, sickness due to expectation.

Look in your library for the PDF
The concept of timeboxing is extremely useful advice, even for me, a productivity geek who has read all the classics of the genre. I have loved putting timeboxing into practice. However, the book is longer than it needs to be to explain timeboxing. At times, Zao-Sanders employs a quasi-religious tone when writing about the benefits of timeboxing, as if it will transform your soul. Timeboxing is a great technique, but I don't need it to transform my soul.
For the reviewer looking for the PDF, if you go to your Audible library on a computer, you will probably see a gray/blue button on the right that says, "View PDF."

Sometimes it gets too obvious and somewhat repetitive, so 4 stars overall from me. However, I would highly recommend this brief and practical guide to managing your time.
