William Kent Kruger has crafted another Cort O'Conner mystery of high quality. For the characters that were in previous books, her has stayed true to their character. Really keeps you interested constantly.

Great story

The storyline brings to light the harsh and evil world for young girls whom have no home life and end up being traficked. Different for cork but I liked it. I also liked new character for Jenny to possibly fall for.

Great narrator. Great author.

I love David Chandler’s narration. Another great story. Each book chronicles more about Cork and his family.

Best one yet!

Hollywood worthy. The Best Cork book so far. On to the next one. Oh yeah

Moving story w/ important message

The story of sex trafficking of young girls is hard to hear and all too real. Krueger not only writes an entertaining story, but also calls attention to a societal problem that weighs particularly heavily on Native American communities for reasons well expressed and explained in this book.

Not my favorite Cork book

I love this series and the characters, and I liked this book, but it was far from my favorite. It seemed like some of the main characters were acting against type and out of character to fit the story line. Other characters were conveniently out of the way and Rose was just conveniently there for the summer? It wasn’t bad, but it all just struck me as odd. I thought it was sort of clunky compared to the other books in the series.

Dark Tale Well Written and Performed

I listened to this books in parts. It speaks to the discrimination of Native Peoples, and the content is sometimes hard to hear and accept How has this hatred and greed been allowed to live on in our country in modern day times? I feel as if I followed along with Cork, and Jenny and Malu to the end on their difficult journey and encounter with the Windigo.

Moving

This story has been quite moving for me as person and the way of my outlook on life. I always believed that I am meant for a greater purpose and this book/series has pushed my outlook on life and spirituality further into the direction I have always believed in. Thank you William and thank you Cork for sharing the experience of true struggle in this crazy; unpredictable world that we live in. Love and caring for others in need is really the secret to a happy and fulfilling life. Thank you

Windigo concept is interesting

A bit predictable but a good listen. I like the series and Cork O’Connor as a character

Best of the Series

An intense look at a side of Minnesota (and many places) that is less magical than most of what we expect in the lake country. Familiar characters develop well, and the villains and victims are realistic. The narration has a roughness that is appropriate for the story in which the characters really have to fight the Windigo.
