Audible Strikes First Look Deal with Skybound Entertainment

Audible Inc. today announced a development deal with multiplatform content company Skybound Entertainment to produce multiple audio-only originals created exclusively for Audible listeners. The creators of global megahits like The Walking Dead, Invincible, Super Dinosaur and Oblivion Song, Skybound will work with Audible to produce action-packed, character-driven, immersive stories for listeners around the world.

Today’s news comes on the heels of the launch of New York Times bestselling Heads Will Roll, from Kate McKinnon and Emily Lynne, the first project in a slate of originals with Broadway Video. Audible also recently announced numerous originals through its deal with Hello Sunshine. Audible Originals offer powerful performances created for listeners by award-winning creators and performers, spanning every genre and length.

In addition to Skybound’s first-look deal with Audible, the entertainment company, run by Robert Kirkman, David Alpert, and Jon Goldman, holds a first-look television deal with Amazon Studios and a first-look feature deal with Universal Pictures. Creative Artists Agency (CAA) initiated and orchestrated the deal for Skybound and Audible.
