Berlin Stories: Audible Germany Celebrates a 10-Year Milestone

Two people cut into a large cake while people celebrate in the background.

It seems like just yesterday that Audible opened its doors in Berlin, but believe it or not, it’s been a decade. We honored the occasion with a stylish 10th anniversary celebration at our Audible Berlin office last week.

The event was attended by authors, narrators, journalists, well-wishers, and a very special guest, Berlin’s mayor, Michael Müller. Radio presenter Bettina Rust interviewed Müller onstage about a variety of topics, and he praised Audible for contributing to Berlin’s creative economy through continued investment in local talent and production.

Also on hand were novelist Sebastian Fitzek, whose thrillers (including 2006’s Die Therapie) have shattered sales records in every format, and Simon Jäger, the voice actor who regularly narrates Fitzek’s works for Audible. Lord Mayor Müller presented Fitzek and Jäger with gold records honoring their success in audio.

Congratulations to our colleagues in Berlin, and consider this our RSVP for the 20th anniversary party in 2028!
