About this listen

Red flag: I'm crushing hard on a broody brain surgeon who keeps his emotions close to the vest. But hello, pot. Meet kettle. I'm the woman who, many years ago when I was young and naïve, left a man at the altar and hasn't been in a relationship since.

Dr. Nick Raines is a brilliant neurosurgeon, hot as sin, and the newest doctor on the popular reality show The Doctor Is In, and I'm the woman who was tasked with stealing him away from his current hospital and convincing him to head up a brand-new facility aching to get his brilliance on their team.

He declined their offer on account of staying in New York for his little girl, and truthfully, my contact with him as his headhunter should've ended there.

But it didn't, and now I'm wading a little too far in the deep end of the adult-emotions pool with Dr. Silent-and-Broody.

And if that weren't already problematic enough, the world is a little too small, and my horrible past decisions are about to cause one giant complication.

Do two red flags cancel each other out? Or do they set you up for double the heartbreak?

Contains mature themes.

Final in series

Nick was a breath of fresh air compared to the salacious behavior for the other two doctors in the series. I really liked the focus of the book on Nick's search for redemption with his daughter and the importance of that relationship. There were definitely surprises and allot twist or two I didn't see coming until it was right there.
The audiobook accompaniment was the icing on the cake. Maxine Mitchell and Joe Arden were the perfect pairing for Charlotte and Nick. I couldn't imagine their voices being anyone else.

Fun story and great narration

First, the story- what a sweet story. The final book in the Docuseries, this followed Nick, the neurosurgeon and Charlotte, the medical recruiter. We first sort of met Nick during one of the billionaire stories- his ex, Winnie, eventually married Wes. They had a daughter, Lexi, and he was the absent father. Already, he had a huge huge strike against him. But the authors actually did the impossible- they made him into a sympathetic character. He had his (still poor) reasons for doing what he did but what really redeemed him was how much he tried to be a great father. Charlotte tried to recruit him but he refused, even with a doubling of his salary and so much money to do research. Why? Because of his daughter. *sigh*

The romance was fast but sweet- they obviously were good together and liked each other and the banter was fun. The docuseries actually was a minor aspect of the story- the timeline of this story started even before Will's story (Dr. Ob's story) but it spanned quite a while as life threw obstacles into their love life.

Lexi is awesome- a tiny powerhouse that made me smile with her snark and her intelligence. Winnie and Wes, as well as Winnie's brother Remy, brought smiles to my face (story for Remy please?!) And overall, I smiled a lot during this book. (I read the book through KU and listened to the book through AE)

Speaking of the audiobook, the authors were great. Nice energy, great voices, excellent pacing and they were having fun. It was a pleasure to listen to.

There has to be a balance

Nick tries so hard to make up for mistakes he made in the past that he cuts himself off from every day emotions. Charlotte is the perfect yin to his yang. When issues arise between these two from people they both know from their past my heart dropped. Max and Monroe paint these characters so clearly they become real. Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell shine like the stars they are as the voices for Nick and Charlotte.

Very cute book, not a lot of sex in it. I would give it a 10/10

Amazing ending to the series I loved it

Narration was great both author wrote a great series and I liked how all the characters intertwined. It is so amazing and very funny and what coincidence about Remi and Charlotte? I liked it and it was very heartfelt and emotional and even the style was so great I couldn’t leave the book until I finished it and even Lexi brightens and brightens it up.

Liked it but felt cheated!

Great read, enjoyed how Char balanced out Nick and how Nick loved his daughter. Loved the narrators as usual! I really liked this book but I felt cheated by the way they totally left out how Nick was portrayed on the TV series. Did I miss that?
