Publisher's summary

It’s always a bad idea to fall for a hot, mysterious billionaire with a spooky castle.

Especially when you find out he’s a dragon.

Night nurse Andi Ngo was desperate for money to bail her idiot brother out of jail. A one time nursing gig seemed like the perfect deal: lots of cash, no questions asked. Even when her employer turns out to be the notorious billionaire Damian Blackwood, Andi is determined to keep quiet and finish the job.

But when Damian saves her life from a monster, there’s no forgetting what she saw - not his insanely superhero physique; not the hungry way he looks at her, like she’s some priceless treasure to be possessed; and definitely not the fact that he’s got another hidden self; he’s an honest-to-god dragon.

Andi knows the dragon shifter’s secret, and he’s definitely far from pleased.

After a night of monsters and mayhem, he takes her home in his fancy sports car and….asks her for a date.

The expensive, well-tailored suit can’t disguise the fire in his eyes and wildness in his savage smile.

She should say, "no."

What if she says, "yes?"

Author note: This is the first of a slow burn paranormal romance series featuring a hot dragon shifter hero: heck yes, explicit scenes are in here, but you’ll have to be patient for the HEA to come.

Like but not love

The characters felt a little bland to me, I really liked how she is a nurse as I am a nurse and felt I could identify with her in that sense. I just didn’t feel a spark with this book, I can’t put my finger on it, as I said I liked it, just didn’t love it.

Dragon Called

If you’re looking for a paranormal romance that has that slow burn throughout, this is the book for you. What starts out as a a simple, unassuming situation, builds to a action packed ordeal. I can’t wait to see where things go for Andi and Damian.

The authors, Kara Lockharte and Cassie Alexander, did a fantastic job of building the intensity throughout the story. They certainly left me wanting more.

Victoria Mei did a great job with the narration. I was drawn into the story and entertained.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Dragons are for real

Dragon Called will have you on the edge of your seat from the first line and will keep you there hold on as Andi gets iut of the car

Damain is a mysterious Billionaire with secrets that needs a lesson in manners. Andi is an curious nurse, with a big heart that has gotten her in more trouble. When an offer comes around for one night for a nurse with a great pay, Andi jumps on it. But it becomes more than she could imagin.

Dragon Called is a great story from beginning to end. The characters are really well written. Andi is strong and determined. She does what she has to no matter what is going on around her. Damain is struggling with his Dragon as he fights the Unearthly. When their world meet so does their passion. The story line is so intense that you get lost in the story.

I am looking forward to continue Damain and Andi's journey.

Interesting premise

This has some great scenes but not as strong of a storyline that I hoped for. Character development would have helped draw me in more but not bad. Enjoyed it for what it is. Good start. 👍

Liked but not Loved

I like this story but didn't love it. To me, it just felt a little flat. The characters need to be filled out and brought to life more. It's the first book in the series so maybe the next book will help. The story was good enough that I will try the next story.

There be dragons...

Damien is a dragon fighting with a team for the protection of earth. Andi is just a nurse that needs some extra income. What’s a simple job with lots of secrets and a no questions asked policy?

The heat with Andi and Damien is flaming. Andi is such a strong woman. She keeps proving how valuable she is and great under pressure over and over. Damien is an idiot for doubting himself and her. I just wanted to smack him upside the head. But I guess he has a dragon for that.

I really liked that the authors recognized gender pronouns in this story. Of course, due to listening, it took me a minute to redirect my mind to realize that is what was happening. So kudos to the authors for this.

Victoria Mei did a fabulous job with the narration. I could feel the emotions as Andi was first going to the castle, with her heartrate accelerated and all.

This was the first book in the series. While not a cliff hanger, Andi and Damien certainly have unresolved issues that you’ll want to listen to the next book. I would definitely recommend picking this up for a listen.

This hot and cold the main characters are giving us giving me whiplash! She's trying hard to show him she's not scared but he's being a douche. On purpose.

To know a dragon is to be cursed.

That is what Andi Ngo's Auntie Kim used to tell her. Dragons are real. Of course she didn't know that for sure until she took an overnight nursing job for extra money. Damien Blackwood is that dragon. He and his team protect Earth from otherworld creatures causing destruction and chaos. When this happens right in front of Andie, Damien is ready to send her away for her own good. Andie jumps in to save her patient without a second thought while a battle is fought all around her. For a human, she handles the monsters, injuries and death like the pro she is. This is a terrific book. I was so engrossed I'm craving the next book.
