About this listen

From New York Times best-selling author Laurelin Paige, book 1 in the Fixed Trilogy

Fixed on You is the first book in a trilogy but ends without a cliffhanger. Due to mature material, it is recommended for ages 17+.

Stalking and restraining orders are a thing of Alayna Wither's past. With her MBA newly in hand, she has her future figured out - move up at the nightclub she works at and stay away from any guy who might trigger her obsessive love disorder. A perfect plan. But what Alayna didn't figure on is Hudson Pierce, the new owner of the nightclub. He's smart, rich, and gorgeous - the kind of guy Alayna knows to stay away from if she wants to keep her past tendencies in check. Except, Hudson's fixed his sights on her. He wants her in his bed and makes no secret of it. Avoiding him isn't an option after he offers a business proposition she can't turn down and she's drawn further into his universe, unable to resist his gravitational pull.

When she learns Hudson has a dark history of his own, she realizes too late that she's fallen for the worst man she could possibly get involved with. Or maybe their less than ideal pasts give them an opportunity to heal each other and finally find the love their lives have been missing.

Not interested enough to go on

I started out really liking this book but then it changed after they hooked up and became more about sex and less about a plot. It became to predictable.

Steamy romance and personal struggles

Decent read with some good steamy romance scenes. No real adventure but more about an introspective tale and overcoming personal struggles. If you want a thriller or thick plot line this is not the book for you. However, It is entertaining and I enjoyed the couples journey from beginning to end.

Omg

To confusing, I don't really like the characters and two disorganized and crazy families make this story so sorry. It took me a month to get through this book, don't know if I have the patience for the next two

One of the best...

I loved this book. I listen to a lot of books and can usually zone out for a minute and get right back into the story without missing a beat, but not with this story. It was so full of detail and gripping that I hung on every word and had to rewind several times to fully grasp the story.
Hero and heroine are likable and their characters are deeply developed. I didn't know going in that it was a series, but I'm so glad I get to continue their story for two more books.

Billionaire Investor Meets Broke College Grad.....

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

*
First and foremost I must say that this was a fantastic deal when I was able to purchase it for $1.99. It was well worth the money. Now onto the review:

Alana Weathers has just graduated with her MBA and wants to work her way up from her bartender to owning the club that she works. Enter handsome, dark, haunting Hudson Pierce who has unbeknownst to her purchased the club.

She is damaged and his family thinks that he is incapable of love.

His mother hates her she hates his mother, there's a playboy father involved and it is typical run-of-the-mill erotic romance.

I did like the book and I knew in advance that there were four in the series. I hate cliffhangers (which this one has.) However, I knew that in advance so it wasn't so bad.

Carly Robbins gives a very good performance and is more of a storyteller then performer – I like that, some people do not. There is a varied cast of hulking men and delicate women voices. It is very difficult for one person to perform the whole range. She did a good job and you knew within a few seconds which character she was portraying.

I'm not intrigued enough to move on to the let next installment right this minute. However, they are on my list wish list for when I run out of books ((not likely to happen anytime soon) or able to pick them up during the sale.

I would not have started this series, except for the introductory price of $1.99. That is worth it. That is the best way to dip your toe into the pool of the new series and I wish that this opportunity would come up more often.

Credit/$: I would not use a credit on this.

Notes: For audiences 18+ as there are strong language and mature themes

Issues with narration

I enjoyed the book but had a very hard time hearing when the narrator would drop to a whisper while talking. Even turning up the volume full blast at several points, I had trouble understanding what she was saying. She also struggled with the male voice parts. Overall, I enjoyed the book enough to move to the next in the series.

It's like Fifty Shades - but better!

If you've read Fifty Shades of Gray, you'll recognize the story immediately. However it's different enough you won't compare the two often, and well, it's oddly better written? The characters work through issues like adults, they talk, which is a great added bonus for the leading lady having the obsessive love disorder.

If you liked Fifty Shades but were thinking - but what if? Give this series a go!
