About this listen

From number-one New York Times best seller Vi Keeland, comes a new, sexy stand-alone novel.

Terminated for inappropriate behavior.
I couldn’t believe the letter in my hands.
Nine years. Nine damn years I’d worked my butt off for one of the largest companies in America, and I was fired with a form letter when I returned home from a week in Aruba.
All because of a video taken when I was on vacation with my friends - a private video made on my private time. Or so I thought....
Pissed off, I cracked open a bottle of wine and wrote my own letter to the gazillionaire CEO telling him what I thought of his company and its practices.
I didn’t think he’d actually respond.
I certainly never thought I’d suddenly become pen pals with the rich jerk.
Eventually, he realized I’d been wronged and made sure I got my job back.
Only…it wasn’t the only thing Grant Lexington wanted to do for me.
But there was no way I was getting involved with my boss’s boss’s boss. Even if he was ridiculously gorgeous, confident, and charming.
It would be completely wrong, inappropriate even.
Sort of like the video that got me into trouble to begin with.
Two wrongs don’t make a right.
But sometimes it’s twice as fun.

Needs a TRIGGER WARNING **

Awesome book with two amazing characters but the subplot, which is not included in the book description is worthy of a TRIGGER WARNING. As such, SPOILER ALERT: the ex-wife suffers from severe PPD/depression and murders their 6 week old baby. OH. MY. GOD. I usually listen to audio books to fall asleep (loooove Sebastian York and Andi Arndt!) but I wish I would have known so I could choose a different book. I feel traumatized. Probably because Vi is such a fabulous writer, and the narration is so good. But a heads up would have helped me make a better selection. Best wishes to you!

Not what I expected- but in a good way.

This book had me feeling every emotion. There’s so much in it. Witty banter to ultimate heartbreak. It could easily have been a mess, but it unfolded perfectly and at times took you to the unexpected. But that’s life. From the description and title I thought it would be a mire lightheaded romcom. But it was so much deeper.
Andi Arndt and Sebastian York delivered stellar performances once again.

Fun

I got to listen to this book through audible escape and I enjoyed the book. I did think that the meet cute was borne of something that was a bit unprofessional (not the video but getting drunk and writing a nasty letter to the head of a major corporation?) but hey, it was a funny start. Otherwise, the characters were fun- Ireland and Grant has a lot of fun banter, lots of steam, and it was something that I had fun listening to (Sebastian York and Andi Arndt are great, as always). There is a heartbreaking past for Grant that colored some of his actions and preferences and these were handled via flashbacks, which I wasn't a fan of but they were done without pulling the reader out of the story too much.

Not your typical billionaire story.....

Andi Arndt and Sebastian York deliver another stellar performance as Ireland and Grant.

Ireland has worked hard her whole life and finally has the job she has been working toward as a morning news anchor at Lexington, after surviving her father's murder of her mother at age 7. She returns home to a termination letter from her employer following a topless video being shown to HR, which was taken during her best friend's bachelorette party in the Caribbean and violates company policies. Angry at the situation, she gets drunk and wakes up to find that she has emailed a letter to the CEO of Lexington, Grant Lexington, telling him exactly what she tho ks of spoiled little rich boys like him.

Little does she know, she and Grant are not all that different. Grant grew up in the foster system, and was adopted by wonderful parents, who also fostered. There he meets Lily. Lily and Grant have a turbulent relationship at best, until she does something horrific.

Grant is amused by the letter and Ireland's quick with. They meet as she waits to collect her items from her desk, and sparks fly. He finds himself manufacturing excuses to be with her, as she makes him feel alive. How will their story end? Completely worth the read/listen!

you will love it

Andi & Sebastian bring these characters to life so well, love these two together. The story draws you in immediately, funny, romantic, a little sad, but the perfect balance. I wish it had gone on a little more than it did, but nonetheless it was great.

Another winning narration from Andi and Sebastian!

A really great story, different and well written from one of my favorite authors. And it was a no-brainer to purchase this audio recording when I noted that Andi Arndt and Sebastian York were the narrators. The combination assured me that I would love both the story and the narration.

This story is haunting me

Terrific story. Had me gripped from the beginning. Suspenseful and funny. Then I was in tears. Wow! And now I can't get it out of my mind.
