About this listen

The New York Times best-selling author of the Submissive novels launches a new erotic romance series....

Students are begging to be held after class.

Andie Lincoln is madly in love with Terrence Knight - her childhood friend-turned-Hollywood's newest golden boy. But he's a dominant and wants her trained as a submissive before he'll consider a relationship with her. He enrolls her at the RACK Academy with strict instructions for her teachers: do whatever you need to, but don't take her virginity.

Fulton Matthews, the director of incoming students, is enthralled by Andie. Though he questioned her enrollment at first, watching her discover her submissive nature is hotter than his most intense fantasy. Under his control, her sexual awakening brings him to his knees.

Yet they can only go so far. Andie belongs to another and he's bound by a contract that strictly forbids relationships between teacher and student. But when Terrence comes to collect his prize, Fulton discovers it's not easy to let her go.

Surprisingly good!

My first Tara Sue Me novel. The author highlights how the relationship between the heroine and hero should be strictly “business” because they are student/teacher, and the heroine is in a committed romantic relationship with someone else. And not just an average person, but an A-List Hollywood actor. It’s for his benefit that she agrees to be trained by the BDSM teacher. No personal relationship can form with the teacher. And then Tara Sue Me challenges that set up by throwing in some animosity, forbidden physical attraction that invites feelings, and you have the makings for really good sexual tension, and romance (with sexy teasing, BDSM style). I really liked that the heroine’s boyfriend, who becomes a third wheel in the story, is still portrayed as a really caring and reasonable person, rather than a nasty person. I should point out, there is no cheating in this story. Will the heroine choose the right man? Will the teacher ignore his feelings and avoid scandal or will he risk his job? So much is at stake. Intelligent people make mistakes because emotion gets in the way of logic.

It’s well written and I enjoyed listening because there was a focus on relationships, not sex (although there definitely is sex in this novel).

So this is for you if sex isn’t the focus of your reading and you can wait for the slow burn to ignite; if you like sane, safe, consensual style BDSM; and if you like to ride the tide of emotion to lead you to a satisfying happy ever after.

There is one narrator, and she does a great job doing all the voices.

My She-Ro

I love how EJD ties his book series together. This book tells me Women can be all they want to be.

Rest Easy Sir... you are a legend

Horribly disappointing story fulfillment

The character Fulton was extremely hot in the beginning, but in the end, turned out to be a much less attractive partner option than Andie’s original boyfriend. In fact, Fulton turned out to be a big, fat douch bag, not owning full responsibility for the unnecessary pain his selfishness caused, and screwing her before he even bothered to talk things through. And she went right along with it. Nauseating that I sat through the whole thing to have it end so repulsively!

Not worth it

I really struggled with this book. From the description, I thought it would be full of dirty, sexy scenes and have a good romance story. Instead, there was only a few scenes and most it was at the end. The romance was lackluster and the story took way too long to get to the point.
I will say the narration was pretty good and what steamy scenes were in this were well done.

Save a Credit

It is hard to believe this is the same author as the Submissive series. Maybe it was one of the author's rookie pieces. The major thing lacking was character development. It had potential but did not deliver. It followed a formula which I would be fine with if I believed in or was rooting for the characters.

Not an erotic romance

This book is not what it purports to be. Maybe I’m shortsighted but I don’t understand how a book can be considered an erotic romance when there are no sex scenes. If you are looking for steamy, this is not it.

Storyline had potential

Writing was boring. Situations could have been more. What a letdown. Kept listening hoping it would get better. It didn’t.
