Publisher's summary

When Chloe Becker decides to fake her resume and lie on a job application to get a higher-paying job, she has no idea what she is getting herself in to. Sure that she can get away with learning as she goes, Chloe walks in to her interview with all the confidence in the world. It doesn't take long for her potential boss to see right through her, but lucky for Chloe, he is looking for someone to fill a position in his other business as well. A position a little more...interesting.

That's when Chloe is introduced to Club Draco. When she first sets her eyes on it, she is convinced that her new boss-to-be is nothing more than a murderer trying to get his kicks before leaving her dead. The building is dark, the windows are tinted and there are absolutely no signs of life inside. What Chloe doesn't know, however, is that within the basement of the creepy looking club, a nightlife she never could have imagined is thriving. A nightlife that consists of dragon shifters, fetishes, and the most gorgeous man she has ever set her eyes on.

Great steamy book

I initially listened to this book for a quick read. After listening to it I wish there was a sequel or even just a bit longer. The ending made me feel like the story had just started and I was surprised when it abruptly ended. Still a great listen.

Smoking Dragons

This was a quick hot read. I enjoyed the fairytale feel of the book. The narration was good. I will definitely listen to more books by both the author and the narrator.

"HOT" listen

Another one of Cynthia's steamy books. This one involves two hunks. Chloe is the innocent here, of course. Drake is the prospective boss. Quite the interview and job offer. Quite the job. Not quite what she was applying for. However, I guess lying does pay off, in this instance Cynthia does as great job with this short story (again). The narrator did a good job. The characters were very aptly described, as was the location and the action in the basement. Again, Cynthia pulled through with a short story that fits well between the big books I listen to.

Why Is This The Title

This short story left me scratching my head because the people who were dragon shifters were not born that way, but genetically modified to be dragons, due to a billionaires obsession with dragons. I have no idea why this has a title as such, because the billionaire is just the brains and money behind this modification. The story isn't a total flop, so it is worth a listen.

Not for me

1/5 stars: Not for me. A eye-rolling, ridiculous plot that would also be offensive on several levels if it happened in the real world.

SPOILERS
The story of a spoiled brat with no skills or experience (who is too good for jobs that don’t require skills or experience) lies in her resume, gets an immediate callback and next-day interview where she plans to “lie her ass off”. The boss says he knows she lied, but he has a “special” job for her, i.e. taking her to his underground sex club, where, by the way, people shape-shift into dragons (because the boss completed diligent research with a bit of trial and error to make this happen) while the girl and her boss watch the sex acts. He then offers her a job at the club and starts touching the girl while he suggests she does public sex scenes in shows... I stopped listening after that.
