Publisher's summary
From award-winning author Leigh Ellwood comes a wild and sexy tale about werewolves, were-panthers, and the women who love them.
Living in Bliss, New Jersey has it perks, unless you're a shifter looking for love or a human looking for peace and quiet. Not only does Calla Savitch, owner of Shear Bliss salon, have to deal with warring panthers and werewolves with overlapping appointments, she's fed up with their constant matchmaking attempts. The last thing she wants, especially, is a hook-up with the one shifter who broke her heart years ago.
Handsome were-panther Caleb Houlihan still nurses the guilt of Calla's heartbreak, but when presented with a second chance to woo her he is reluctant. Calla may forgive his youthful indiscretions, but when she discovers his aunt's true motive for wanting them together, will she send him packing?
On this stretch of the Jersey Shore, it's a different "situation"!

Ryder, Garrett, Kenzo, and Diesel - The Vipers. Their deals are as sordid as their business, and their reputation is enough to bring a grown man to his knees, forcing him to beg for mercy. They are not people you mess with, yet my dad did. The old man ran up a debt with them and then sold me to cover his losses. Yes, sold me. They own me now. I’m theirs in every sense of the word. But I’ve never been meek and compliant.

Story
Obituary writer Nadine Barbault doesn’t mind being called “Lady Death”. It suits the ice queen persona she’s cultivated to survive the fast-paced Toronto Herald. So when Nadine learns that famous (and reclusive) author Dot Voline has died, she doesn’t hesitate to run the obituary…only to discover that Dot is very much alive. Nadine’s screw-up has brought Wesley Chen of the rival Spear no end of joy—she’s been a thorn in his extremely ambitious side for years. But the renewed interest in Dot also surfaced chatter about a mysterious past scandal.

Story
After watching my mother succumb to a mysterious illness, I promised myself two things. I'd find the cure for what ravaged her and leave the godforsaken city where she abandoned me. Four years later, I received an acceptance letter from Dracadia University, one of the oldest most prestigious schools in the country. Nestled on a secluded island off the coast of Maine, it's rumored to be haunted by the souls of the mental patients exiled there centuries before, those whose bones are said to make up the island's white sandy shores. And restless ghosts aren't even its most daunting peculiarity.

Narrator ruined the book
Every single person sounded the same. I guess I also didn't expect to hear the Jersey accent. I couldn't get past that male Panthers sounded like little girls and all the girls sounded the same and with that darn accent.
The story could've been good but I couldn't bare to listen so I know it's bad when u fast forward several times in a 2 hour story.

Middle of the road ..
I enjoyed the basic story line here in Sheer Bliss. I love shapeshifters - paranormal romance genres too. But I will start choosing narrations that are a more comfortable listen. Charity McGowan is a good reader, however a tad bit monotone. And I am learning that I just prefer a more stronger, fuller voice narration in my romance novels, especially if I have to listen to it at any length.

OK listen
This book was OK--the narrator not so much. Caleb and Calla have a past. Calla is the owner of Sheer Bliss salon. Caleb's aunt wanted him to marry to preserve the race of shifters and not necessarily for love. The book ended abruptly. This book would have been so much better with a different narrator since this one was not good.

Not Worth Your Time
What would have made Sheer Bliss: A Shapeshifter Erotic Romance better?
Better narration. Worst one I've ever listened to.
Would you ever listen to anything by Leigh Ellwood again?
I don't know. The performance of the narrator was so awful that it adversely affected the storyline.
What didn’t you like about Charity McGowan’s performance?
Uninspiring; sounded like an adolescent. The narrator sounded like a 12 year old. It seemed the voice she used for Caleb was higher than the voice she used for the women. And I couldn't figure out what kind of accent she was trying to use for some of the women. Was that supposed to be "Jersey?"
