Editorial reviews

In a breezy audio collection, the inimitable Dr. Laura reads three of her popular books about the stupid things women, men, and couples do to mess up their lives. She's a brilliant writer on human frailty, and she's especially sharp about the craziness that invades us when we fall in love. Though her glib smugness (something most radio personalities acquire with age) is distracting at times, this excellent compilation still proves that Dr. Laura is one of our most astute mental health teachers. Her brand of freewheeling confidence is a welcome change from the compensatory puffiness heard in many author-narrated mental health audios. An entertaining and immensely engaging lesson.

Excellent study!

I have followed Dr. L for years. I identify with her no nonsense perspective a lot.

Awesome as usual!

Dr. Laura really has the right message! Get this book and follow it! If men and women would follow this simple advise, the problems concerning marriage and divorce would all be solved! OK, that's too much to expect in this world... But what about you and me? Thanks again Doc!

Chatty, but nothing really useful here

The Power of Love is very chatty and relatively easy to listen to; however, the book simply has no substance. The advice is ad hoc at best, but I really don't think the author knows more about relationships than a good bartender. In fact, her assertions are completely unsupported. More like a long litany of anecdotes than a systematic examination of the Power of Love.

The women has no clue what she's talking about, and she's neither a medical doctor or has doctorate in psychology - she has a PhD in physiology which is the study of human body - kind of like human specific biology - she might know her stuff about amino acids, hormones, and enzymes, but she is toally out of her league here.

Complete waste of time and money!

This woman is full of herself..

Her attitude sucks, she loves to call people stupid... she is not compassionate at all towards people that have made mistakes in life and need some direction and advice, she is too full of herself... In fact, she spends more time calling people stupid than she is finding solutions... She makes SOME good points, but her bad way of delivering her ideas just killed it for me.. I had to stop listening... If you want to listen to someone really nice and intelligent, listen to Louise Hay. She GIVES solutions and doesn't make you feel incompetent... Don't waste your time.. I was nice giving her 2 stars..
