Publisher's summary

Narrated in duet by Bridget Bordeaux and Troy Duran

What if the Beast took the girl of his dreams AND the man who was desperate to claim her, and used them to act out his every fantasy...

The witch’s wrath has left me isolated, broken.
A Beast unable to even touch another living soul without ruining them.
My only solace comes from watching the one I’ve fallen in love with from afar. Fleur.
She’s beautiful, spirited, and everything I desire. I can’t give her what she needs, but there’s one in the village who can…
Gabriel is tall, strong, and handsome—all things I once was. As my days grow lonelier, I accept that I need them—both of them.
They’ll act out every dark, twisted fantasy my monstrous form prevents me from participating in.
And with any luck, they’ll grow to enjoy their new prison.
But the closer we become, the more the roses wither and die. The castle is changing. The curse exacts a greater toll each day.
Unless… Is it possible Fleur is meant for more than satiating my most carnal needs?
Could she be the one to break the spell?
Or is it too impossible for anyone to love a Beast?

Well well 🥵

Let me tell you. I don’t usually go for retelling or books loosely based off another story. BUT THIS! I love this book so much. Right off the bat with the spice!

I will be honest, I started out a little rough and took me a couple of chapters to get into, hence the 4 stars. Though I am so happy I stick with it. Violet takes you for ride of emotions both up and down and super spicy.

Troy and Bridget did an amazing job bringing this story alive and making you almost feel like YOU are living in it. I don’t think there could have been a better female narrator to voice Fleur. I absolutely love Bridget and the bad @$$dry she brought to the table.

What a Perfectly Unique Take On Beauty and the Beast!

This audiobook was a perfectly unexpected retelling of Beauty and the Beast. We get Belle, the Beast, and Gaston, and I absolutely have to say that Violet Taylor will be an auto-buy author for me from here on out.

I absolutely devoured this book and cannot wait for more from Violet!

Beauty, Beast, AND Gaston

The Wrath of Roses- Violet Taylor
Narrated by Troy Duran and Bridget Bordeaux

Rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Narration 🎧🎧🎧🎧🎧

The emotions this book brought out of me was completely unexpected. We all know the story of Beauty and the Beast and this reimagining is probably as close to the original as you can get yet at the same time there’s the added dynamic of adding Gabriel, the Gaston of this story, added into Fleur (Belle) and the Beast’s relationship. Just like the original, I did NOT like Gabriel. I kept hoping that it would be true to the original that the Beast would end up killing him, I just did not see a redemption arc for him, but I will say the ending honestly surprised me and my reaction to what happened surprised me just as much. I don’t want to say too much and give anything away, but the ending alone was everything!

Troy and Bridget did a phenomenal job on this narration. Troy is one of my favorites and he had the perfect low growly voice to portray the Beast. And Bridget was perfect to voice Fleur. She always does such an incredible job.

Adult beauty & the beast retelling with a few unique twists!

I have to say Alaine McDaniel’s review sums up my feelings for this book. Troy & Bridget’s narration was fantastic. I can’t wait to see what other stories Violet has planned for this series.

Ohh to be Fleur

Listen.. we all know the original fairy tale, but what a delicious and filthy story Violet Taylor created. Sexy, violent and somewhat fresh story. I was surprised in the best way. Troy and Bridged were AMAZING with their portray of the characters! Troy's deep and distinctive 'beast' voice and Bridge's silky and sensual timber - wonderful combo!

There's no need to describe the plot. Just get comfy and listen to this audiobook, because it will make you feel all kinds of emotions. *wink wink

Great Retelling with a Twist

This is a very dark and steamy Beauty & The Beast retelling with a twist!

The narrators did an amazing job with this book! I absolutely loved Fleur as the FMC and Bridget’s version of her voice - I felt all of her different emotions! She was so strong and wasn’t afraid to ask for what she wanted. Troy’s Beast was fantastic and I loved the accent and how he made the beast growl! This was a steamy and unique retelling of B&TB with some great twists and turns! I loved the tension and the chemistry between these three characters! Renard had been grieving and had been isolated for so long I loved seeing him with Fleur and Gabriel. This story has some very spicy scenes with the Beast as…well a beast!

Great Beauty and the Beast

It’s been awhile since I listened to a reimagine fairytale, and this is my first book by Violet Taylor, and I’ll be interested to see what future audiobooks she comes out with. While I enjoyed this book, there were a couple of similarities too close to the animated version from the 90s, that I wish had been changed, but there is plenty of things in this book that are not anywhere close to the movie, and you will be thankful for all of them. Our heroine, Fleur, is sweet, feisty, and independent and is voiced by the overly talented Bridget Bordeaux, while Gabriel and the Beast, are narrated by the one and only, Troy Duran. This book takes you from wherever you are an puts you smack dab in the middle of this world. It is a ride worth taking. Enjoy.

Narration: Duet narration, first-person present tense. Troy voices both MMCs.

Tropes: reimagine fairytale, dark, love triangle, one bed, morally grey hero’s, unconventional heroine, voyeur, multiple partners

While this is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast, it is much darker than the fairytale you remember as a kid. Pretty sure Belle wasn’t involved with more than one man, and never warmed up to Gaston. Since we all know this tale, I will point out some of the differences I enjoyed while not giving any spoilers away.

How the prince is cursed is an interesting spin on the original, as I the way Fleur comes to be in the Beast’s castle. Gabriel is a cocky, arrogant man, and his and the Beast’s personalities clash as they are so similar. The Beast has watched the two from a far for years, and while he has fallen. For Fleur, he needs Gabriel to act out every deranged fantasy he has, and he enjoys being the voyeur, but would love to be involved in the bedroom activities.

As the three grow closer, the curse seems to be taking more from the castle. What will happen to these three as the castle changes around them and the people they depend on are no longer people they can trust. Will Fleur have to choose, or can she get the happily ever after she didn’t know was possible?
