Publisher's summary

She agreed to play. She agreed to be mine. I won't let her change the rules of the game.

Violence has always been part of my life. I was angry as a child, underchallenged and neglected, with no outlet for my dangerous rage.

Years have passed, and I'm no longer a victim of my own aggression. I'm in control now. A control that many seek to surrender. Just like her. My pet. The beautiful blonde who agreed to submit to my will. She agreed to be kidnapped and locked away until our contract is over. She's here to play a role.

But her defiance seems too real, her terror too honest. Watching her struggle is bone-chilling. She's getting to me like no one ever has before, seizing a heart that cannot love. Or so I thought....

Violent Delights is a dark romance with themes of kidnapping, captivity, and steamy BDSM scenes. Intended for audiences 18+ and not for the faint-hearted. Contains situations some listeners might find objectionable. No cheating, no cliffhangers, and a guaranteed HEA.

Love this, one of my favorite series!

I love a dark romance and this is well written and well narrated. You can’t help but get intertwined in the characters. Love Linnea May’s bad girls and broken men D/s theme
. Her books are usually part of a series and always worth the read! Love the 4 books in this series and 4 in the velvet rooms series.

Really....

Just don't get it... I've read dark romances. This story promised more than it delivered.

Not that Violent

I wish that she were more scared, less excited. It was a good story, but not really all that "dark".

An excellent story with excellent narration

I loved just about everything about this book. The narration was great, understated but nothing close to monotone. I will absolutely be buying more books from this series. The story was interesting, it kept me on the edge of my seat, and the characters were interesting and well developed. If I had one gripe it was that a few things here and there could have had more depth, mainly their backstories, but I understand why that wasn't a big focus because it wasn't supposed to be. It was a piece of them that helped the characters become who they were but all of this was supposed to focus on the present. I really enjoyed this and listened to it almost straight from beginning to end, finishing it in under a day after I started it. It was well worth the credit, I highly recommend it.

Mordrake is amazing! Warren was tepid at best.

Jean-Paul Mordrake's narration was hot, lively and masterful. His voice is so sexy. I enjoyed every second of listening to him.

Holly Warren was monotone, just monotone. No inflection in her voice, nothing. She almost ruined the entire story.

The story was well written and oh so yummy! I recommend reading vs listening because of the dull narration of Warren.

Just okay for me

I happened to read this series out of order. And unfortunately for me, the only other book that I had read previously was book 4, which has an intertwined beginning with this one. They were so similar that I thought I was reading the same story. But I figured out what was going on and all was good. Until I realized that they were just too similar for me to enjoy. I don't think this would be a problem for anyone else, just my bad luck for picking up the other book first and not being able to separate them in my mind.

Psychology at Play

Joseph has one outlet to control his aggression and it's by selecting a girl out of a catalog that agree's to be kidnapped and kept for a month. The agency arranges this girl to play by his rules as per the contract they both signed. She will remain nameless but have certain attributes. Once he has the element of surprise by kidnapping her, he will lock her away until their contract and role play is completed.

Kidnapped off the street, after stealing a fur coat and locked away in a room, Joseph has no idea he has kidnapped the wrong girl, until after he has done kinky things to her. Now what?

Jean-Paul Mordrake does a good job at delivering the warped and controlled mind of Joseph. I enjoyed Holly Warren's voice, but wasn't convinced our pet was terrified.
