Borghild Strandenes is originally from Bergen, Norway but left Norway in 2011 for SW France where she now lives with her Norwegian husband and her pack of rescue dogs and cats. Borghild is also the founder and president of a no profit rescue association helping blind and shut down dogs – and through the association she also runs a food program in Ukraine. Borghild does educational talks on dogs’ sensory systems to help us understand our canine companions better. Her intense love for those dogs that are different or considered unadoptable takes her down roads often less travelled and in her first book “Shakespeare - A dog with a broken brain” we get to follow her journey with her dog Shakespeare, the dog no one could help until Borghild met him in a concrete box in Cyprus and both their lives changed forever. Her next book “24 Dogs from Ukraine and my Norwegian heritage” will be published spring 2025.
