Claudine Chollet was born the 26th of October 1947 in Charente and currently lives in the Touraine region. In 1975, she participates in the experimental revue of Editions de Minuit in the style of « Nouveau Roman ». She also wrote sentimental short stories as an easy source of income for the newspaper « Nous Deux ».
She chooses crime fiction as her writing style after the success of a detective story « Poulpe », which she wrote in two and a half months, but she renounces the violent side of the style and creates her proper series where the criminal intrigue is just a guideline of a narrative that emphasizes the humanity of her characters with their flaws and merits, written in an original and caustic style.
The series of « Polycarpe » has a new release every two years, alternately with other publications. The series exists also as a audiobook on www.advbs.fr, the Sound Library of Tours, of which Mrs Chollet is a sponsor.
C. Chollet is one of the founders of « Polar sur Loire », a crime fiction book faire in Val de Loire.
