Growing up in Ohio, we spent our summers in the woodlands and the creeks looking for Indian artifacts, fossils, special rocks and mysteries. Educated as a theologian and a practicing psychologist, we became involved in the pursuit of a local dinosaur, and learned things from the search that colleges and universities did not have to offer. We call it dinosaur wisdom. We chose to share this story in a form that young and old could enjoy. I have always believed that reading should be interesting and fun. Imagination and emotion is packed into the chapters. Not to make it interesting, but because it is true. Dinosaurs, and the unseen past world that we had right here under our feet long ago, are so mysterious. For instance: why did dinosaurs chew rocks and eat mud? How long did they tend their young after they hatched from eggs and became younglings? How is it that dinosaur bones are so abundant on earth that they can be purchased for small sums of money, yet they were unnoticed and unknown to have existed until the late 1800's? Was humanity ignorant and blind? Or was the mystery of a long lasting previous world too hard to accept? I have shared this story in hopes that the reader may learn something about the mindset of a fossil hunter, and may become a mystery hunter themselves, learning about life, and their place in it as they proceed.
