Gary Edward Geraci (born 1964) is an American poet hailing from Castro Valley, California. His Catholic parents relocated to Austin, Texas in the mid-1970s, where he grew up with three brothers and one sister, all musically talented, immersing themselves in Austin's world-renowned music scene well into his thirties. Geraci earned his Civil Engineering degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1999, leading to a professional career in various engineering projects. Currently, he works as a design engineer for federal government earthen dam repair and rehabilitation projects. Though deprived of the freedom to study college liberal arts, he fueled his passion for writing through blogging. His first blog, "The Beat Goes On," became the platform to share his personal and compelling story, from music scene memories to his reversion from an agnostic science major to a devout Catholic. Inspired by the movie “Patterson,” Geraci began writing poetry in 2017 and has since published nearly 500 poems on platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Blogger, and MyPoeticside. His poem “Pale Blue Dot” won honorable mention in the Christian Poets & Writers 2018 Online Faith Community review, where it was praised as “Simply, Quintessential” and highlighted for his expressive oratory ability. Geraci is married and resides with his wife in Temple, Texas.
