"John & Jana are les enfants terrible of picture books today." - School Library Journal John Seven is a writer and journalist living in The Berkshires in Massachusetts with his wife, illustrator Jana Christy. Their most recent books are We Say No! A Child's Guide To Resistance and Gorilla Gardener: How To Help Nature Take Over The World, both from Manic D Press' Wee Rebel Books imprint. Previous books for Manic D are A Rule Is To Break: A Child's Guide To Anarchy, which has been translated into six languages and condemned by the Tea Party, and the punk rock counting book Happy Punks 123. Also with Jana, John has written the picture book biography of Frank Sinatra, Frankie Liked To Sing, endorsed by the Sinatra family and published by Abrams Books, and several other picture picture books.. Other creations include the controversial children's book A Rule Is To Break: A Child's Guide To Anarchy and the punk rock counting book Happy Punks 123. Seven's time travel adventure series, The Time Tripping Faradays, was published by Capstone Young Readers. Prior to their work together in picture books, John and Jana were known for their cult comic book, Very Vicky. ​
