Joseph Louis Lisoni was born in Los Angeles, in March, 1947. As an eleven year old, Joe’s father built him a quarter midget racecar, in 1958, “Missfire”. During the three years of racing before he out grew the car, he amassed many trophies. His quarter midget racecar, built by his father, has the first set of aluminum rims in a race car, the first midget with four-wheel suspension and had an engine built by Indianapolis legend, Carl Offenhauser. The racecar ran on alcohol fuel, which would prepare him for his legal career in product liability law and his pursuit of it as an alternate fuel source for automobiles manufactured worldwide. Today, the 1958 quarter midget racer is part of the collection of historic cars at the world famous, $120 million dollar Petersen Automotive Museum located on Wilshire Boulevard’s “Miracle Mile” in Los Angeles, California. When Joe attended Junipero Serra High School in Gardena, California (1965), St. Mary’s College in Moraga, California, (1969) and received his Juris Doctorate degree (1972) from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco, California. He passed the California State Bar Exam in 1972 on his first attempt. At Hastings Law School, he won the prestigious William Prosser Moot Court Award for outstanding appellate advocacy.
