Liam Campling is a political economist working on problems of corporate power and distribution in the world economy, especially in relation to processes of development, environmental change and labour regimes. He has lived and worked in Berlin, Geneva, Fiji and Seychelles, and interviewed over 1,000 people in two dozen countries on a variety of research projects. Liam is currently Professor of International Business and Development at the School of Business and Management, Queen Mary University of London. He has published widely in academic journals in the fields of Development Studies, Economic Geography and International Political Economy, and is an editor of Journal of Agrarian Change. He has done research for a variety of organisations, such as the Commonwealth Secretariat, European Parliament, International Transport Workers Federation, various United Nations agencies, and, in particular, the Pacific Islands.
