Lisa Marie Basile is an author, poet, and journalist in NYC. She’s written a few books of poetry and nonfiction, including Andalucia, Apocryphal, Nympholespy (finalist in the 2017 Tarpaulin Sky Book Awards), and Light Magic for Dark Times, among others. Her essays and other work can be seen in The New York Times, Catapult, Narratively, Bust, Entropy, Occulum, Best American Poetry, Tinderbox Poetry, Clash Books, Best American Experimental Writing 2020, Best Small Fictions, and more. She is the founding editor of Luna Luna Magazine, and she has an MFA in Writing from The New School. Her work explores the space between the sacred and the profane, desire, hunger, lineage and foster care, the body, and transformation.
