Mandy Preece is a mum, wife of a very patient man and Rock work-in-progress. She's also a communications coach, motivational speaker, end of life skills trainer and NHS volunteer ambassador. Her experience of sitting with people at end of life taught her the gift of being Rock - that being alongside is so much more than just listening. 'What inspires me the most is when people from teens to grandparents really get Being Rock and change how they listen and support each other. It's why I do what I do. I've been lucky enough to receive the Princess Royal Training Award for my communications training and I was NHS Unsung Hero Volunteer of the Year 2019. My experience of sitting alongside people taught me this simple truth: all of us are looking for connection. We all crave and deserve to be heard - in grief, in joy and in the everyday.' Mandy
