Philipp Carlsson-Szlezak is BCG's Global Chief Economist and a Managing Director & Partner in the firm's New York office. Philipp was previously Chief Economist at Sanford Bernstein where he covered the economy and markets for institutional investors across the global asset management industry. Earlier in his career, he spent more than ten years advising financial institutions and governments at BCG, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and McKinsey & Company. Philipp continuously publishes research on structural and cyclical macroeconomic themes, and he advises clients on both strategic and tactical macro questions. He is a regular contributor to Harvard Business Review, World Economic Forum Agenda, and other business publications. You can read Philipp’s latest thinking in his Fortune.com column. Philipp has a B.Sc from London School of Economics and a Ph.D from University of Oxford.
