Quillem McBreen wrote the The Tenets of Truth in his hometown
of Liverpool where he lives with his partner and best friend. Despite
having a wide-ranging background, which has seen him try his hand at
everything from a fire dancer to the watcher in sky, even the keeper of
the keys, and many things in between, this is his first time working as a
writer; though his experience of security and politics certainly helped
to create the shadier elements that form the world at the centre of the
Alytheian Cycle series.
Quillem’s love of literature no doubt began with the read along ‘Story
Teller’ magazine and cassettes of the 1980s. He would spend hours in the
back of his parent’s caravan as they toured with the travelling menagerie
listening to stories like Anansi the Spiderman and Gobolino the Witches
Cat. No wonder he became a daydreamer with a vivid imagination and
eventually wound up as a fantasy author!
To this day, Quillem has an appetite for audiobooks, and when he’s
not reading, he’s probably listening to a book, although his parents have
since sold the caravan.
