Rodrigo Maltez Novaes is an artist, designer, translator, editor, and researcher. With a Master’s in visual arts from the University of the Arts London, his is currently pursuing his PhD at the European Graduate School. Between 2010 and 2014 he worked as a resident researcher at _Vilém_Flusser_Archive in Berlin, where he kickstarted the project to translate Vilém Flusser’s work from Portuguese into English, commissioned by Univocal Publishing in partnership with the University of Minnesota Press. In 2012, he co-founded the Metaflux Lab, through which he has taught as a guest professor at several universities in Europe on the work of Vilém Flusser, including the University of Edinburgh, the Humboldt University, the Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design, the Sandberg Institute, the Lucerne University of Design, the University of Newcastle, and the University of Lünenburg. Novaes lives and works in São Paulo, where he has been developing the online platform Arquivo_Vilém_Flusser_ and running Metaflux Publishing, which he founded in 2015.
