Suzanne Beaky grew up in Gahanna, Ohio and studied illustration at Columbus College of Art and Design. Her expressive illustrations are commissioned by children's book, magazine and educational publishers worldwide. She received the Durham (N.C.) Arts Council Emerging Artist Award and the Ellen Dolan Memorial Mentorship Award from the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators-Missouri and the Comstock Book Award for the Best Read Aloud for Older Children - from Minnesota State University Moorhead. After living in Missouri for several years she and her husband now live in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania.
