I was born in Utah, but spent much of my early childhood in northern Arizona. My family had a huge impact on the person I am today. My parents were always wonderful not just to me but to everyone around them. I was blessed to have such wonderful siblings - two brothers and two sisters - all of whom I love deeply. I am now married and have three wonderful children, a dog, and ten ducks. I know so far this has all been just what you expected it to be, reading boring information about the details of my family. I want to stop you right there... Family is one of the most important aspects that shape our individual growth, experience, and probably most important, how we view the world. It is much the way I was taught, loved, and raised that allows me to share my writing with you. There are many voices out there and the overwhelming amount of chaos and confusing content that is readily accessible is mind boggling. Some years ago, I found myself on social media platforms for hours a day. I am not exactly sure what it was, but one evening as I was about to log in and begin scrolling through endless posts and content, I paused....my finger hovering over the app, and I found myself feeling sick. I had always loved writing but my English teachers and professors over the years had put a bad taste in my mouth. Forced to write on topics that I found repulsive and unnecessary to even think about. It was then that I decided something needed to change. I love reading and listening to books. It is one of my favorite pastimes. However, even the books I had been reading and/or listening to were becoming vulgar and I was displeased with many of the authors I had loved reading from when I was younger. I decided that night to spend the time that I would usually dedicate to endless mind numbing scrolling, and I would write. I informed my wife of my decision and she wholeheartedly supported my decision. It took me over a year but I finished my first novel. I began the process of editing and even hired a professional to read through my manuscript. I was informed that my manuscript was long and fairly boring. I soon became dismayed and was about to give up. However, my family stepped in and lovingly encouraged me to continue writing, and comforted me saying things would eventually work out. So I continued to write and soon finished my second novel. I must have sent it out to every publisher in the western half of the United States - even though I faced rejection and still continue to do so. I don't think I could ever really stop writing. I have fallen in love with putting my ideas on paper. I draw a lot of my inspiration from nature. I am lucky enough to live in one of the most beautiful places in the world. Towering mountains surround me on all sides. In the winter they stand tall and cold; their snow peaked caps look daunting and impassable. In the spring and early summer the foliage is green and lush - the water cold and pure. Nature may give me ideas and forge worlds for me to fill with characters and adventures, but I have God to thank for providing it for me. I can only really thank Him for everything for He is the reason we are here. God and His son Jesus Christ are the most important and precious thing to me in this life. There will be many who will despise me for my faith, but I cannot, and will not apologize for my beliefs. Without morals provided to us by a loving God it would be impossible to write about the struggle between good and evil. The one thing we can always count on is that good will always win in the end. Though the struggle might be hard, or sometimes fatal, in the end evil can never stand triumphant. I hope that this gives a little more background on why I write and who I am. If you have any questions feel free to leave me a message. I can't promise I will answer, but I might just surprise you. Thank you for your support. I look forward to putting more positive and enjoyable content out into the world.
