Murder by sabotage in the Pacific Northwest leads to international crime syndicates and sets a professional assassin on the trail of Larry and Kate.
Larry Holman had exciting jobs as a special forces officer, FBI agent, and county Deputy Prosecutor, and has moved on to a more relaxed life as a lawyer in a small town on the Olympic Peninsula. When a friend is killed in the crash of his sabotaged airplane Larry must use all his skills to survive and bring the killer to justice. Larry brings in his new investigator, Kate Martin, a former Seattle police officer, to help catch the saboteur.
They quickly identify a likely suspect who the FBI says is a suspect in several other murders in Europe. Unable to identify a motive or who might have hired an assassin they look into Jon’s employers and find he had a second job flying planes for corporations part-time. They dig deep and find connections to a local branch of a company that seems to have achieved some control over county government. A company that was incorporated in the Cayman Islands by an attorney who also filed incorporation papers for a bank, a charity, and another company the same day, all with anonymous owners.
Kate and Larry admit their mutual attraction and make love. Larry expands Kates sexual range and takes her to new heights of pleasure. They share excitement and danger as they close in on the truth. Kate realizes that Larry might be the man she needs. She opens up to him and persuades him to help explore her dream life.
The nebulous trail leads to criminal enterprises in Bulgaria and Columbia and sets a professional assassin on their trail. They narrowly escape assassination attempts in Grand Cayman and at home. Kate is kidnapped and about to be fed into the white slavery network when Larry finds and rescues her.
