i fell for the reviews. It was too juvenile and silly for me. And, the narrator’s voice was annoying, and his character acting was subpar.

Important theme and topic but seemed to be written for the young adult audience.

Fantastic

This book is an important read for anyone with progressive passions or ideals. You don’t have to be a left-winger to take away its valuable lessons on the American traditions of Freedom. However, those on the far-Christian-right and those fundamentalists of the Invisible Hand will no doubt be discouraged by its tone.

The author creates a fantastic, systematic analysis of conservative vs. progressive thought and maps it into cognitive science. The ideas in this book have rejuvenated my passion toward freedom and given me a solid basis for discussion of progressivism with others. For years, I’ve secretly challenged the contradictions and paradoxes of the populist Right, as I could never correctly deconstruct it. Now I understand – Freedom is more than markets; it requires rights, free-movement, and unobstructed access for all.

Stylized, and Great Narration

Total
4 out of 5 stars

Revisado: 07-03-05

I found this book enjoyable and finished it quite quickly. I particularly enjoyed the cyber-punk, techno, post-modernist world. The narrator and the author's stylish use of language were excellent and key to pulling the book together.

There are several negatives that keep me from giving a higher score. I think the characters are too flat, improbably connected and coincidental. Much better books have characters that are essential to their stories and inseparable from them. Also, I found the post-modernism a little tedious, and although clever, it kept me from engaging in the story at times.

Dull Narrator

This may be a terrific book, as I have enjoyed reading other works by the author. However, the narrator has such little vision and emotion, that the best I can do 20 minutes before falling asleep. I have tried it several times, but I am sadly defeated after getting through the first two hours.

This is my 5th audible.com work of fiction, and the worst so far.
