Historia
In The World of J.R.R. Tolkien, you will join Dr. Dimitra Fimi to delve into Tolkien’s complex and multilayered mythology, examining all these ingredients and more. In these 10 lectures, you will explore and appreciate Middle-earth as medieval, mythological, and modern, a literary creation that was shaped by forces old and new. And you may be surprised to discover just how much of Tolkien’s legendarium was constructed posthumously, with his son Christopher compiling and publishing many of Tolkien’s later works after his death.

Historia
Chesterton's allegorical masterpiece is a surreal, psychologically thrilling novel that centres on seven anarchists in turn of the century London who call themselves by the names of days of the week. The story begins when poet Gabriel Syme is recruited as a detective to a secret anarchist division of Scotland Yard by a shrouded, nameless person. Syme infiltrates a secret meeting of anarchists who are intent on destroying the world and becomes known as 'Thursday', one of the seven members of the Central Anarchist Council.

Historia
The liberation of Europe and the destruction of the Third Reich is a story of courage and enduring triumph, of calamity and miscalculation. In this first volume of the Liberation Trilogy, Rick Atkinson shows why no modern learner can understand the ultimate victory of the Allied powers without a grasp of the great drama that unfolded in North Africa in 1942 and 1943. That first year of the Allied war was a pivotal point in American history, the moment when the United States began to act like a great power.

Great anecdotes.
Revisado: 03-31-21
This book was throughly researched with multiple perspectives taken from diaries, journalists, biographies etc. I knew i was going to like this book when the author noted Gen. Patton practiced a scowl in the mirror to better impress those under his command. It is the human moments like this that bring this book to life. This is my favorite military history book and I can see why it won the Pulitzer Prize. When is the movie?
Truth be told I was initially more interested in George Guidall’s reading than the subject matter. I’m glad I took a chance as this was a complete experience.
I did note the other books in the series were read by other readers. Too bad. Guidall is the best.

Worth the credit
Revisado: 08-03-18
Although I am a fan of both Clines and Porter, I resisted using a credit for a series of short stories clocking in around 5 hours. I thought a full “book” provided a better value. What a mistake. Some of these short stories tie in to his other full length books and I was left wanting more. Good stuff...

No
Which character – as performed by Nick Offerman – was your favorite?

Any additional comments?
This is a story of a narcissistic, immoral actor with a charmed life. the story has bits like: my top ten intoxicants. If you are into this sort of thing, this is the book for you. the voice work is great and some stories are funny. Overall, there was nothing uplifting to take from it. The tone was negative, crass and self indulgent.
