A zany mystery
Revisado: 11-18-21
What a zany bunch of characters! I loved it! I laughed out loud. The mystery was good too -- it kept me guessing. Plus there was some very heartfelt romance, especially at the end. The narrator did a great job. All in all, a great read. I am looking forward to the next one in the series.

Funny and enoyable
Revisado: 11-18-21
What a fun book! This is a unique combination of humor, mystery, and romance, with a clever style that had me hooked. The muscle contest with all the personalities was hysterical. The mystery was clever. The romance was touching. The narrator does an excellent job at bringing the characters and the narration to life.

Fun fantasy romance
Revisado: 04-20-21
This is a fun and unique fantasy romance with a lot of surprises and twists and turns. I love that the author brought the fantasy characters into our world rather than going into a fantasy world. It is well-written and fast moving, with relatable characters. Great storytelling! The narrator did an excellent job at capturing the mood, delineating the characters, and bringing the story to life with a smooth clear delivery.

Romance, Humor, and Clever Characters
Revisado: 02-04-18
What made the experience of listening to Cozzi Cove: Bouncing Back the most enjoyable?
It was written in a very cinematic style, where different stories intertwine, and flow seamlessly from one to the other. It is full of humor and clever dialogue. I enjoyed following the main storyline of Cal, the owner of the bungalows at Cozzi Cove, as well as the stories of the various guests. I thought it was masterfully constructed going from almost campy humor to pathos to spirituality, all woven together very naturally.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Cal, the MC -- though Connor, the sex-starved maid, was a close second.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
One of the things I loved about this book was that it made me laugh out loud at one moment, feel fulfillment the next moment, and then well up in tears the next.
Any additional comments?
The narrator did an excellent job at bringing each character to life.

unique and entertaining
Revisado: 12-23-17
This book has a unique style that fascinated me. It has all the elements of a good traditional cozy mystery, with fun and quirky characters, subtle clues, red herrings, and a surprise (but well earned) ending. At the same time, it deals with current social issues, has a witty and sarcastic sense of humor, has some romance, has heartwarming main characters, and has supporting characters that that push the envelope without going over the top. The story kept me guessing with the clues visible but well disguised. The narrator does a good job of moving the story along and distinguishing the characters.

Fun adventure
Revisado: 06-17-16
This was a fun adventure with colorful characters that takes an exciting journey with some unexpected twists.I loved Kay and Alamin, and I thought Felix was a hoot. The story kept my interest throughout, and it moved at a nice pace. The narrator did a wonderful job with all the voices. He has such a range - each voice is very fitting for the character, and is easily recognizable and unique. His narration moves the story along with the proper emotion and pacing. If you want an adventure book for tweens, teens, or even fantasy-loving adults, give this a try!

Interesting story and characters
Revisado: 03-12-16
Interesting story and characters, but rather long and drawn out. It could have been much tighter, and there were some inconsistencies. The narrator did a decent job. She has a nice voice, and reads well, but there could have been more variety and emotion, and better pacing. Overall, pretty enjoyable, though.

A great listen for all ages
Revisado: 02-28-16
Duncan's imaginary story becomes real, and he becomes the hero who is the only one who can save the last dragon. The author creates a fascinating hidden world of magic, dragons, and fantasy creatures. All the characters - real and fantasy - are well drawn and it is wonderful to see a boy in a wheelchair as the hero.
The narrator does an excellent job of bringing each character to life with a unique and recognizable voice, and moving the story along with the right kind of emotion and pacing. I didn't want to stop listening.
I think this story will appeal to younger and older teenagers, as well as adults who love fantasy. While the story does have an ending, it seems like there will be continuing adventures. I look forward to listening to the next book!

Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. Then, on Harry's eleventh birthday, a great beetle-eyed giant of a man called Rubeus Hagrid bursts in with some astonishing news: Harry Potter is a wizard, and he has a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. An incredible adventure is about to begin!

Really comes to life
Revisado: 11-24-15
If you could sum up To Light The Dragon's Fire in three words, what would they be?
intriguing fantasy adventure
Who was your favorite character and why?
There were a lot of wonderful characters and all the main characters had complex and very real personalities. While some of the creatures were colorful and fun, if I had to pick one person, I would pick Lani -- one of the twins, who are the main characters of the story. She had a real inner strength along with a compassion.
What about Fred Wolinsky’s performance did you like?
I loved all the different voices that he created -- very versatile, with each voice really bringing out the personality of each character. It helped me visualize the characters and their interaction, as well as keep them distinct. I always knew who was talking. His narration voice was also pleasant to listen to, and full of emotion, moving the story along in a captivating way.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
There was several moments that really tore my heartstrings -- especially a moment near the end, but I don't want to give away any spoilers.
Any additional comments?
The book has a complicated plot (and I have a feeling that future books will get more complicated), but it all makes sense and falls into place. Margaret Taylor has created a fascinating world and peopled it with well thought out characters. I never got bored, and look forward to the next book. The narration by Fred Wolinsky helped bring it to life and keep it moving. I hope he narrates the next book.
