Historia
Monster Hunter International may have had its roots in the United States of America, but there are plenty of monsters in the big old world. And wherever there are monsters, humans will need monster hunters. Here then, stories of the things that go bump in the night and the men and women who bump back—focusing on the myths, legends, and folklore of Czechia, by Czech authors. Includes a new short story by Larry Correia.

Good addition
Revisado: 07-16-24
This was a good addition. I like the way the story gave a different perspective from MHI. Worth the read.

Lacking from the Oldschool feel
Revisado: 10-19-17
I understand the need to move from the OG characters. But this is a little out of the norm. I was looking forward to this thinking it was gonna be action packed and it just seemed to paint a dull picture. It was cool where they had the timelines intertwine in the book. And gave substance to the background characters but it lacked the feel of the Empire. It lacked the cause to make you rally around the protagonist or give sympathy to the antagonist. As I stated before these new books are not producing the flash and drive of the OG books. I am missing the lightsabers and the force. The truly in depth characters backgrounds and uniqueness. I liked this book but would hesitate telling a true fan to pick it up.

Historia
One of the most cunning and merciless officers of the First Order, Captain Phasma commands the favor of her superiors, the respect of her peers, and the terror of her enemies. But for all her renown, Phasma remains as virtually unknown as the impassive expression on her gleaming chrome helmet. Now, an adversary is bent on unearthing her mysterious origins - and exposing a secret she guards as zealously and ruthlessly as she serves her masters.

Good but not great
Revisado: 10-19-17
This book seems to be the trend. What I grew up loving about Star Wars is being watered down and or extracted all together. The story wasn't bad. Just reminded me of the Wizard of Oz. The back story is cool if they continue with the three new characters going forward. But the whole Force aspect of Star wars is being written out and I am not digging it. Sorry I grew up with a mix of the Force heavy books ie. Jedi academy and the action packed stories ie. rogue squadron. For me bring back the lighsabers and/or the force users. The gangsters and cartels. The smugglers and bounty hunters. Sorry but this story didn't have anything that wowed me. But it did keep me in a wonderland/Oz world that at times was fun.

Historia
When Monster Hunter International's top hunter, Owen Zastava Pitt, was given a tip about some hunters who had gone missing in action, he didn't realize their rescue mission would snowball into the single biggest operation in MHI's history. Their men are being held prisoner in a horrific nightmare dimension, and the only way to reach them is through the radioactive ruins of a monster-infested war zone. As if that wasn't bad enough, it's also the home base of the powerful creature behind the devastating attacks on the Last Dragon and Copper Lake.

Keeps you going
Revisado: 10-02-17
Another hit from the series. I really was worried about it with the whole Pit on his own vibe in the book. What I come to love is the diversity of the different characters. They all seem to have something that makes them special and adds to the whole. But this book did not disappoint. It keep me reading (listening) to where I had to put it down because I was rushing through it. Can't wait for the next one. If you love the series this is a must.

Historia
The request from Thomas Abbot, the Augur of the Sub Rosa council, couldn't come at a better time for James Stark, aka Sandman Slim. For a man who's most recently met Death - and Death's killer - a few months of normal life is more than he can handle. He needs a little action, and now Abbott wants Stark and Candy to investigate the disappearance of a young boy - and help uncover council members who might be tied to Wormwood's power brokers.

It flowed well
Revisado: 09-15-16
The book had a different tone then the other books and opened up the door for a lot more characters and villains. This is good but Sandman Slim seems to have lost his shine in this book. Plus he still have not come to terms with the power I think they will exploit in the next books. Which is frustrating. They hinted to it in other books and it seems like they keep doming him down. but it is still a great story and fits well in the whole Sandman Slim series

Good but not the best
Revisado: 09-15-16
This was a great edition but did not wow me like the other books. With some of the plot lines going on and the different directions all the main characters were going in it made it hard to follow at times. But with that said it was a good over all book. And brought the characters you love back to the forefront.

Historia
When marine private Oliver Chadwick Gardenier is killed in the marine barrack bombing in Beirut, somebody who might be Saint Peter gives him a choice: Go to heaven, which, while nice, might be a little boring, or return to earth. The Boss has a mission for him, and he's to look for a sign. He's a marine: He'll choose the mission. Unfortunately, the sign he's to look for is "57". Which, given the food services contract in Bethesda Hospital, creates some difficulty. Eventually it appears that God's will is for Chad to join a group called Monster Hunters International.

Revisado: 09-15-16
This was a great second edition to the story line. it was a little show at first. but kicked it up. It was still a little off. it seemed like they made a few of the characters more jaded then needed. But all in all worth the buy

fun but felt lacking
Revisado: 07-05-16
I gave it 5 overall as it closed out the series the best way it could. But it seemed to reach to much. Don't get me wrong it had everything the other two books had and more. A lot more. But I was left wanting. The characters keep evolving and the action is well done. The backstory for me is what kind of killed it. Plus i was waiting for something that never came. And that kind of killed it for me. If you read it you will understand. This is a must if you read the other books and it closes out the series in a tight little bundle. And opens up for some more if the writer wants but doesn't push the button.

Better than Expected
Revisado: 07-05-16
Brought this on whim and was surprisingly surprised. It was well done and the characters really fleshed out by the end of the book. Angus paints a great picture but sometimes to much. It bring a little of everything to the table with a humor and action. Worth the read/listen. can't wait to read/listen to the next one in the series... this will either break or make the trilogy for me
