Historia
From the New York Times best-selling authors of America's First Daughter comes the epic story of Eliza Schuyler Hamilton - a revolutionary woman who, like her new nation, struggled to define herself in the wake of war, betrayal, and tragedy. In this haunting, moving, and beautifully written book, Dray and Kamoie used thousands of letters and original sources to tell Eliza's story as it's never been told before - not just as the wronged wife at the center of a political sex scandal but also as a founding mother who shaped an American legacy in her own right.

Great story of a woman and of America's history.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
This is a well-paced, thoughtfully written story of a woman in the front seat of the birth of the United States. The narrator brings Eliza Hamilton to life for the listener. We get a sense of life for a woman in the 18th century especially given her position among the founding fathers. The insight into the political maneuvering of that era helps you understand the tension built into our constitutional process that was there from the outset. It makes the news of today very understandable. This is a very enjoyable story on many levels and I highly recommend it.

Unexpected Delight
Revisado: 02-13-17
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
This was an unexpected delight. I was truly sad when the story concluded and know that I will have to wait months for another book. The book started slow so do don't give up; the stage needs to be set. I like that the plot has twists and turns and that I did not figure out the ending in advance. The narrator definitely added to the story with a variety of voices making it easy to follow. All in all, a very entertaining book.

Historia
Two-time winner of the Pulitzer Prize David McCullough tells the dramatic story behind the story about the courageous brothers who taught the world how to fly: Wilbur and Orville Wright.
On December 17, 1903, at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, Wilbur and Orville Wright's Wright Flyer became the first powered, heavier-than-air machine to achieve controlled, sustained flight with a pilot aboard. The Age of Flight had begun. How did they do it? And why?

McCullough ruins his own book
Revisado: 06-27-15
Any additional comments?
What would have been an excellent book was completely ruined by the author's narration. By now it seems he should certainly be able to hire a professional narrator. His voice was fading or gravely and many words slurred. We couldn't finish listening to it. We just fast forwarded to the epilogue. While the story was interesting, it was just too painful to listen especially as we were on a long car ride. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if you listened in small increments.

Not very good
Revisado: 06-23-14
What did you like best about Without Warning? What did you like least?
Never been disappointed with Rosenfelt before so there is always a first time. This book is uneven with a rather unbelievable ending. The characters are not that interesting with the exception of the dialogue between the Police Chief and FBI Agent. The narrator just didn't seem to fit this book. This won't keep me from reading Rosenfelt. I am looking forward to the new Andy Carpenter book due out next month.

Historia
The number one New York Times best-selling story about American Olympic triumph in Nazi Germany, the inspiration for the PBS documentary The Boys of '36, broadcast to coincide with the 2016 Summer Olympics and the 80th anniversary of the boys' gold medal race. Out of the depths of the Depression comes an irresistible story about beating the odds and finding hope in the most desperate of times - the improbable, intimate account of how nine working-class boys from the American West showed the world at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin what true grit really meant.

Historia
Myron Bolitar has always dreamed about the femme fatale walking into his office and asking for help. The woman standing in his doorway has killer curves all right: She’s eight months pregnant, which kind of ruins the fantasy. Former tennis star Suzze T and her rock star husband, Lex, are both clients, and over the years Myron has negotiated his share of contracts for the power pair. But now Lex has disappeared and Suzze is in tears, fearing the online rumors questioning the baby’s paternity have driven away Lex.

Great Narration
Revisado: 12-30-10
Ms Rosenblat does such an exceptionally fine job with the narration. She brings life to the characters and keeps you wanting more. The story is not action packed but it slowly unwinds the story of a mother and daughter that makes you mourn for what could have been. It is a good listen. I would recommend it if you like life stories.

Bad Narration
Revisado: 05-07-10
I read this series and looked forward to listening to it. This narrator ruined the story. One voice and a lisp too! - I am glad to see the narrator was changed for the 2nd and 3rd book in the series so I am looking forward to hearing those. I recommend reading the paper copy and skipping this audio.

Poorly written
Revisado: 04-16-09
This book is so poorly written that it is painful. I have enjoyed Fielding in the past but this one misses on all counts. The heroine's lack of self esteem is tedious and at times overwhelming. The author's constant use of the heroine talking out loud to herself and mixing it with her dialogue with other makes it very hard to follow. Don't waste your money on this one.

A sour note
Revisado: 02-20-09
I always enjoyed the sharp wit of Phillips' books. Unfortunately this has a decidedly mean streak to the writing. It is hard to warm up to the characters as a result. The narrator's sing-song reading is difficult to listen to for long periods. While no one can replace Anna Fields, there are many narrators that could have made this a better listening experience.
