Historia
Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don't live to see the morning? In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by 12 outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

Wow, what a nice surprize!
Revisado: 03-08-11
This book was amazing. I was pulled into the story in the first five minutes and could not catch my breath until it was done. And then once it was done, I wished it wasn't.
The topic and plot werel defined and described well. Although I loved the charactors I was more drawn to know more about this world she had created. In every way it was unbelievable and yet she made it believable. You could feel yourself there in every situation discribed.
This is a must read, even if you've made up your mind that you don't like teenage fantasy novels. I did, and I'm glad!

Angry at the Author
Revisado: 05-30-10
The first half of the book was ok. You get to know the charactors and things are pretty interesting.
That being said why is earth would an author spoil a good work with such tragic events. Having finished a book i always ask my self if i am richer from the experience. With this one i am NOT. Infact i felt very angry, even furious with the author for waisting my time getting to know these charactors.
At the end you were left with very little hope as well. I will not read another of this authors books.

Historia
In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women—mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends—view one another. A deeply moving novel filled with poignancy, humor, and hope, The Help is a timeless and universal story about the lines we abide by, and the ones we don't.

Wow!!
Revisado: 02-23-10
I finished this book a few days ago and am so sad it's over. I can still hear the different characters voices narrated. This book takes a hold of you early on and doesn't let go. The author did exstinsive charactor development. Just when you thought you could guess at what would happen next, or how something would turn out, you would continue to be surprized. A must listen for all audible fans!!!
