Incredible story. Found the narration done beautifully. The story of a family who joined a spy group and how two sisters lives forever changed. So sad. But an incredible story.

Incredible story

This was such a well done performance. The whole thing was both sad and incredibly emotional. Not sure if any is in fact accurate. So much was violence but then that is how we have always been told the Indians where? Really well done

When life starts to play out like a movie
Revisado: 11-17-24
The story was well thought out. The narrator did a wonderful job with each character and help add to the richness of the story. But by far my favorite part was the tidbits given by the author at the end. All the information about Audrey Hepburn and her life. And how she wove those tidbits into this story was a truly brilliant job.

Historia
In February 1910, a monstrous blizzard centered on Washington State hit the Northwest, breaking records. The world stopped - but nowhere was the danger more terrifying than near a tiny town called Wellington, perched high in the Cascade Mountains, where a desperate situation evolved minute by minute: two trainloads of cold, hungry passengers and their crews found themselves marooned without escape, their railcars gradually being buried in the rising drifts.

Tragic
Revisado: 11-09-24
Tragic retelling of the events before and after the 1910 avalanche that took so many lives. It is a very sad and retelling but one worth learning more about. As with all history if we don’t know about it or try to understand it then it can be repeated. Narrator did an excellent job of presenting the facts.

Historia
Bertie Jenkins has spent forty years serving as a midwife for her community in the Great Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee. Out of all the mothers she’s tended, none affects her more than the young teenager who shows up on her doorstep, injured, afraid, and expecting, one warm June day in 1943. As Bertie and her four sisters tenderly nurture Songbird back to health, the bond between the childless midwife and the motherless teen grows strong. But soon Songbird is forced to make a heartbreaking decision that will tear this little family apart.

Sad
Revisado: 11-07-24
This is a sad book on so many levels. Narrator did an excellent job keeping things going and creating a very memorable book. The journey to find out who he is as an adopted grown up can never be easy. And it saddens me that so many people think to keep adoption a secret or make anyone feel less then. I have 3 adopted children and while I want them to know they are chosen it is a hard thing to keep them from feeling someone did not want them. Sometimes it is as this book is and adoption is a way to protect a child from all the things you cannot give them as their parent. God bless all who adopt and all those who make the ultimate sacrifice to give their child a better chance in life. I see you. Hugs

Humm
Revisado: 11-07-24
I’m on the fence. There is a misery and a murder and well a whole lot to take in. The narrative is well done and it is easy to follow along. There is abuse and so much to absorb about this book. Liked it and have a lot you could talk about in a book club group. Well done
