Historia
When a man in a hospital gown jumps to his death from the Western Wall in Israel, the authorities think it’s just another victim of Jerusalem Syndrome: a religious psychosis triggered by a visit to the holy city. But when a second victim ritually disembowels himself, it’s the sign of much worse to come. Thanatos — a fanatical group dedicated to the destruction of the world — is on the move again.

Very well written. Unputdownable. I loved the fierce heroin with unpeccable morals. I'll be sure to get the next book in this series.

Exactly what I was looking for. Action and adventure and a tough, smart, female heroin. I was not disappointed. The story was very well written. I'll jump right on to the next book in the series.

As an FBI profiler, it's Lilah Love's job to think like a killer. And she is very good at her job. When a series of murders surface - the victims all stripped naked and shot in the head - Lilah's instincts tell her it's the work of an assassin, not a serial killer. But when the case takes her back to her hometown in the Hamptons and a mysterious but unmistakable connection to her own life, all her assumptions are shaken to the core.

As a midwife and healer, she is privy to much of what goes on behind closed doors in Hallowell. Her diary is a record of every birth and death, crime and debacle that unfolds in the close-knit community. Months earlier, Martha documented the details of an alleged rape committed by two of the town’s most respected gentlemen—one of whom has now been found dead in the ice.

Historia
The second crime novel by internationally best-selling writer Eoin Colfer is a gritty and utterly compelling follow-up to the critically acclaimed Plugged. In Screwed, Colfer adds an entirely new chapter to the adventures and misadventures of Daniel McEvoy, the down-on-his-luck Irish bouncer at a seedy New Jersey bar who, with the help of a motley crew of unlikely characters, solved a bizarre string of murders - including the one of the girl he loved. But people around him continue to die mysteriously, and Daniel is called into action once again.

Anonymity. Trust. Professionalism. In his world, Jonathan Quinn has a few rules. He'll get rid of bodies that have to disappear; nothing ever gets traced back to him. But when Quinn is called to a busy Los Angeles port where a shipping container has just come in from the sea, it's clear his rules have been violated. Annoying narration
Revisado: 08-18-16
I hate to critisize the narrator, but I can't help feeling strongly that the narrator made Quinn sound like a whining bully (yeah, unlikely combination I know), unsensitive and unintelligent. Speaking like the words came out of a trumpet. Probably not what the author intended. I liked Quinn in The Cleaner, but now I hate him. The way people speak may influence me more than I thought. Maybe I'll get over it so I can buy the next book.
While I'm at it, here's a word for the author: I found it unbelievable that Quinn threw away expensive gear that he could have put in his pocket for use another time. How much does a silencer cost? Who in the real world would throw a silencer on the ground and leave it because it got some mud on it? (I think most people would have put it in their pocket). And who would really crush their own earpiece (probably pretty expensive too) just because they didn't like what they heard from it? It is a funny disregard for property... I know, I know, people are getting killed all around, but hey, that was necessary, right? It is the unnecessary waist that gets to me... He he.

Amazing work by an extremely skillful author
Revisado: 08-24-13
I've just finished book one, and I loved it. I'm in awe at what the author has created here. The descriptions are so lively, the setting so real, it feels like being present. Also the insight into the human nature, both good and bad that the author so skillfully is presenting to us is fascinating. The narrator did an awesome job too. I can't wait to start listening to book 2 and 3, and feel lucky that I didn't have to wait for them...
