A fun read thanks to Shirtaloon’s wonderful storytelling and Heath Miller’s fantastic narration. Can’t wait for the next one!

I’m not quite equipped to provide all the reasons why I loved this novel and this performance so much. It’s just one of those perfect stories, written so beautifully. The best I can say is that I will relisten to Addie many times in the future. Fantasy, romance, history, and psychological dance between Addie and Luc that spans the centuries. Bravo.

This story takes you on a wonderful adventure. It’s clever, seamless writing brings you right along with the children as they travel through the Up and Under in search of a way home. Like all the best fairy tales, the choices made change their goals and they learn a lot about not only themselves, but this new and dangerously delightful world, and also the place they’ve always called home. It’s is brilliantly narrated by Heath Miller who not only brings to life the voices of the children and fairytale creatures alike, but also captures the spirit of the story with tone and timbre. Under the Woodward Wall is an enjoyable diversion that also has substance.

The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern is a beautifully written book full of myth, magic and fairy tale. Yet, it also reads like a mystery, where the reader must follow the ribbons of clues and find the proper keys to unlock door after door to find their way to the heart of the story. Part romance, part swashbuckling adventure (while still being entirely character driven) reading this wonderful tale is definitely akin to following the proverbial white rabbit down the hole. History and books, owl kings and bees, the delight and wonder are ever apparent. Perhaps what I enjoyed most was amidst the twisting paths of the story we are given an anchor named Zachary Ezra Rawlins, who like us is both bewildered and fascinated, and also like us is entirely compelled to see the story through to its ending. There is a lot of honey, and I love honey, so that was fun, too! The narration is amazing and brings you yet closer to the heart of the story.
