Historia
How can I become part of the solution? In the wake of the social unrest of 2020 and growing calls for racial justice, many business leaders and ordinary citizens are asking that very question. This book provides a compass for all those seeking to begin the work of anti-racism. In The Conversation, Robert Livingston addresses three simple but profound questions: What is racism? Why should everyone be more concerned about it? What can we do to eradicate it?

I had high hopes
Revisado: 06-22-23
I had high hopes for this book as it was recommended by the diversity and inclusion board. We had the author coming to discuss the book and I was genuinely interested.
After I read it, I chose not to attend out respect for the author. The only questions I could think were to address the numerous hypocritical statements, logical fallacies, and contradictions in the authors analysis.

Historia
Do doctors really know what they are talking about when they tell us vaccines are safe? Should we take climate experts at their word when they warn us about the perils of global warming? Why should we trust science when our own politicians don't? In this landmark book, Naomi Oreskes offers a bold and compelling defense of science, revealing why the social character of scientific knowledge is its greatest strength - and the greatest reason we can trust it.

Common knowledge, was expecting more.
Revisado: 06-22-23
The book was a collection of well known issues with how science is conducted. Entry level understanding at best.

Historia
We believe these are the divisions that are threatening to tear America apart. But what if the culprit isn't a political ideology or a class of people but a puppet master? He's been manipulating us for centuries - and now he's brought us to the brink of implosion.

A very good wake-up call
Revisado: 06-22-23
There is no way to verify the claims of the author, nor the character in which is represented; but the purpose of the warning is sound and should be heard. We have allowed our society to be what is is, we will be shaped by our choices.
It is a quick sobering read that makes you consider a possibility that we do need a significant course correction. It is hard to hear what is said at times, but I implore you to finish it. At least consider the warning.
