I Usually Love This Author’s Novels,
Revisado: 03-22-25
But it hard for me to enjoy it book when I dislike the main character for ninety-five percent of it.
As usual however, the characters were well drawn, the story flowed, and though it went from one time period to another, it was easy to follow.
I look forward to reading another Amanda Prouse novel.

Excellent Narration
Revisado: 02-09-25
The narration of a novel can make or break it for me. This was beautifully done.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book. iLisa Wingate again took great pains with her research to present an accurate picture of the history and locations in Oklahoma at that time. Then she presented it in an entertaining way. The book did drag a bit for me in the middle.
I am very glad that I listened to it. I learned quite a lot.

Each homicide is witnessed by a survivor, and now these lucky ones need to decide how to tell their stories to the world. Their posts about the horrific murders create a media storm and a new term is soon coined for the killers: The Alliance.

Violent
Revisado: 01-22-25
Disappointing Matt Brolly novel for me. I don’t remember his stories being as violent nor as far fetched. I thought that the narrator did a good job with the characters, but her sing song voice in other places in the reading sometimes lulled me to sleep.

When her nineteen-year marriage ends, stay-at-home mom Effie Baker takes the first step into her new life with an extreme makeover. Couldn’t Finish This One, It May Deserve a Lot More Stars

I tried, but I couldn’t get past the narration. Every sentence was expressed dramatically, even when insignificant.
Plus I wasn’t encouraged to try with all the hoop-la about Patsy Kline,

A Bit Mystical
Revisado: 12-10-24
I enjoy most of Barbara O’Neal’s novels. Her skills with words is so lovely, that even stories that don’t particularly appeal to me become a pleasure to hear.
I almost didn’t listen to this one because at first the narrator’s style annoyed me. But, as the story developed she showed a remarkable ability to shift her voice smoothly for the different characters. She won me over from annoyance to appreciation.

Sweet Story
Revisado: 11-12-24
The narration was very good, except for the men’s voices which I felt we’re poor.
I enjoyed the story until the end. The ending wasn’t wrong, just way overly sweet and mushy.

An easy to read, feel good book with a kept-me-involved plot. There are still good novels written that don’t depend on excessive violence or gratuitous sex to earn readers.

Historia
Lou is reeling from a triple whammy of shocks that have left her loveless, jobless and almost homeless. Staying for a night with an old friend in the Cotswold village of Foxwell, she lends a helping hand to a spectacularly ungrateful older man with a reputation in the village for being a 'character'. When Edgar makes a suggestion that would solve two out of three of Lou's problems in one fell swoop, it's hard to resist. Especially as the return to the village of the very attractive Remy—not that he's even noticed Lou!—makes it an unusually appealing place to live.

Nice Story ; Excellent Narration
Revisado: 10-11-24
It took several chapters before I became hooked. But then it was fun read without violence, gratuitous sex, or over used foul language. A rarity in modern novels, I find. I will gladly choose books written by Jill Mansell and/or read by Katherine Press in the future.
