Historia
As management reels from the unexpected conclusion of the seventh level, the surviving crawlers stumble onto the eighth and find themselves scattered. It’s a map based on Earth’s final days before the collapse, where ethereal, intangible ghosts of humanity go about their lives, oblivious of the impending doom. Living amongst these ghosts are monsters based in Earth lore. “Legendary” creatures tied to the geographical location they inhabit. Each team of crawlers is given a task: Find and capture six of these beasts.

Historia
While Tala is still burdened with an overly large debt, she needs to balance repayment with learning opportunities and surviving the arcanous creatures increasingly focused on her. Additionally, she must explore her newly acquired magical items, investigate a potentially lethal source of consumable power, and get back home with the caravan, trusting her defensive magics to keep her whole. She has found that the world is bigger than she ever imagined, and what she had thought was the peak of power is only the beginning of her journey as a Mage.

Historia
All Max wants is to become a climber and search for his long-lost sister. But citizens aren’t allowed to climb - they aren’t even allowed remotely in the vicinity of the mysterious and magical tower. Plus, even if citizens could enter, it didn’t change the fact that Max’s body is paralyzed from the waist down, confined to a wheelchair. No way would anyone let him enter the tower. Ever.

Don’t judge the genre
Revisado: 05-09-22
TLDR: the purpose behind major actions, motivations of any key characters, clarity on the magic/trait system and how the limitations really affect people, and actually how(aside from “O I just thought of this so of course it will work because I have plot armor”) the main character manages to come out in top. While it does have the general systems in place to be a litrpg, it’s like a hollow shell that misses the target.
I really feel like this book is a cliff notes version of a litrpg. All the element are there but the character development is missing. “Boss” battles are started and finished with just a few sentences and the main character feels completely detached from his origin story.
The narration alone left me wanting to drop it a couple of times. I never realized how much a voice choice determined how I visualized a character.
The story has potential but the detail and story telling is missing. I’ve almost finished book 2 and there have been slight improvements, but not sure it’s enough to keep me curious.
