Historia
Ivan is an easygoing gorilla. Living at the Exit 8 Big Top Mall and Video Arcade, he has grown accustomed to humans watching him through the glass walls of his domain. He rarely misses his life in the jungle. In fact, he hardly ever thinks about it at all. Instead, Ivan thinks about TV shows he's seen and about his friends Stella, an elderly elephant, and Bob, a stray dog. But mostly Ivan thinks about art and how to capture the taste of a mango or the sound of leaves with color and a well-placed line.

Wonderful for the Whole Family
Revisado: 09-18-20
WARNING: THIS BOOK MAY MAKE YOU CRY!!
My children and I listened to this audiobook on one of our long trips. Through most of the book, the car was silent except for the story. All of us cried at least once, but it was due to the wonderful storytelling. This was years ago, and yet when the movie came out, we lined up on the couch and watched it together. The movie was good, the book was great. A must listen.

Historia
For centuries, mystical creatures of all description were gathered to a hidden refuge called Fablehaven to prevent their extinction. The sanctuary survives today as one of the last strongholds of true magic in a cynical world. Enchanting? Absolutely. Exciting? You bet. Safe? Well, actually, quite the opposite... Kendra and her brother Seth have no idea their grandfather is the current caretaker of Fablehaven.

Amazing
Revisado: 07-30-14
This series is amazing. My whole family enjoys listening to these, and we got them after our enjoyment of Brandon Mull's The Candy Shop War. I have two boys, one 8 and one 10. They love these books and it gives our whole family something to talk about and share. We now have jokes that are based off of this series that no one else gets. It is truly a wonderful and creative series that delights the whole family.

Mr Stink stank. He also stunk. And if it was correct English to say he stinked, then he stinked as well.... Chloe sees Mr Stink every day, but she’s never spoken to him - which isn’t surprising, because he’s a tramp and he stinks. But there’s more to Mr Stink than meets the eye (or nose), and before she knows it, Chloe has an unusual new friend hiding in her garden shed.

Great Story
Revisado: 02-10-14
This was the first book by David Williams my family listened to. This book is very heartwarming, a little sad, and ends on a great note. I really enjoyed how the author brought together so many aspects into one book. My kids were entranced, and we had a great time listening to this book. I would highly recommend this book for grade school kids. Be prepared to explain what some words mean though. "Tramp" for example. My kids loved it despite the language difference.

Historia
The first four books in the beloved and hilarious Alvin Ho book series, which has been compared to Diary of a Wimpy Kid and is perfect for young listeners. Book 1: Alvin, an Asian American second grader, is afraid of everything - elevators, tunnels, girls, and, most of all, school. He’s so afraid of school that, while he’s there, he never, ever, says a word. But at home he’s a very loud superhero named Firecracker Man, a brother to Calvin and Anibelly, and a gentleman-in-training, so he can be just like his dad.

A Hit With the Kids
Revisado: 02-10-14
Ok, so I was torn on getting this book because of the mixed reviews I had read on it. I did though, and do not regret it. My children love this neurotic kid. We have been listening to this story every night and they adore it. We joke about our own PDK's (if you read the book you'll understand), and how his decisions affect him. This series has been a great hit. Not one of our favorites, but definitely worth the time.

OK
Revisado: 02-10-14
David Williams books are one of my family's mainstays. We started with Mr. Stink, and the kids loved it, so they were excited to hear more. This was not one of our favorites though. Although the book had the same formula as the others, with a great deal of emotional struggles, and dismissive parenting, the book just did not add up. It just seemed to miss the magic of the others. If this is the first book of his you read, give another one a try. His others are definitely better. If you are a seasoned reader of David Williams, this book will be a slight disappointment.

Sad!!
Revisado: 02-10-14
This book was very good. My kids and I enjoy David Williams books, and have since we read Mr. Stink. He has a way of making the books very relatable, even when they are outlandish. This book though, was very sad. It should have definitely had a warning on it. I caught myself and the kids tearing up and various parts. In the end, the book had a very good story with an upbeat ending. I would definitely recommend this book, but be forewarned that there might be some tears popping up.

Historia
This collection of short stories from the master of modern fiction is available only as an audiobook. In Blood and Smoke, Stephen King takes us inside a world of yearning and paranoia, isolation and addiction. It is the world of the smoker. In this audio-only collection, the now politically incorrect habit plays a key role in the fates of three different men.

Lol. Not my first round with this collection, but I still cannot get enough of Lunch at the Gothem Cafe. It always gets me rolling. Definately creepy, but totally enjoyable.

Not Great
Revisado: 08-27-13
Any additional comments?
This book was not as good as most of the Koontz I read. I felt often like he was insulting my intelligence and adding information that was both irrelevant and inaccurate. We are not talking historically accurate either. He contradicted himself frequently, and the story seemed unnecessarily long. There were points that I thought I got lost. Overall, I made it through the book, and do not feel terrible about spending my time listening to it, but would not read it again.

Historia
One dark, moonlit night, two artists met at the Lake Drummond Hotel, built directly on the borderline of North Carolina and Virginia. One was a young woman with the ability to see spirits trapped in trees and stone, anchored to the earth beyond their years. Her gift was to draw them, and then to set them free. The other was a dark man, haunted by dreams and visions that brought him stories of sadness and pain, trapped in a life between the powers he sensed all around him and a mundane existence attended by failure.

Great Story
Revisado: 08-27-13
Any additional comments?
I really enjoyed the story. It was dark, but had a way of drawing you into othe imagery of the story. The only issue I had, was that the narrator was hard to listen to. I found myself missing parts of the book because of the way the narrator...kinda droned on. It was a little tedious. The story is a keeper though, and the narrator didn't distract me so much that I did not enjoy the book.
