I expected a better written book. This is too long with an annoying main character, and the narrator can't handle NY accents. The NY storyline is weak and doesn't add much. The author's device of having this tale "written" by the Girl on The Cliff at age 16 really doesn't excuse all the inconsistant details, anachronisms and incorrect US slang and characters. I will not be reading any other books by this author.

Loved listening to the long, lyrical passages that add depth to the settings, characters, and story of the theatre. A must for true lovers of the theatre. Interesting insight into a world that was Bram Stoker's inspiration for his infamous Dracula.

Thank you, Audible! What a wonderful performance... just like a play reading. Neil Gaiman's excellent words from the mouths of talented actors allows readers to use their imaginations much more than the graphic novel would.
