The Iron Within I'd simply amazing!
Revisado: 03-08-24
I don't normally re-listen to audio books, however the short story Iron Within is so awesome! Dantioch is a perfect example of how one man can hold off an army. Most of the horus heresy is one disappointment after another if your a fan of the good guys. This story is exceptional in all aspects from rockstar Jonathan Keebles amazing narrating, to the character details and story telling. This story should be a movie.

Horrible narrators ruined this for me
Revisado: 07-29-23
Maybe I've been spoiled by Johnathon Keeble and his amazing job of reading Warhammer 40k novels. But these narrators are boring, and the female narrator lacks the ability to utilize effective voice inflection.

These books have gotten darker and more depressing
Revisado: 12-31-22
I started this series as a teen and returned 20 years later because I noticed more books to the series. Unfortunately, the series has turned depressing and dark after each new book. I understand plot twists, and I understand an overwhelming need to not make things predictable. However, the push towards depressing writing is not appealing to me, and it left me not wanting to listen to the next book.

Finally some loyal wins unlike most of the series.
Revisado: 05-05-22
I got addicted to the 40K universe via the dawn of war games back in the day, and I recently started listening to the audio books to better understand the 40k universe. I understand it is dark and in constant war. However I have noticed a trend in the 50 or so audio books that I have listened to. The bad guys win or overcome the good guys more often than not. I understand the need to be different and not be like every other story. Good guys usually win in most stories I understand. I just find it mildly depressing when the bad guys aka traitor marines constantly win. This book is one of the first to actually seem like the loyal space marines are winning! Granted as usually the main protagonist survives due to plot armor. Good book in my opinion!

Sons of the primarch Roboute Guilliman, the Primaris Ultramarines are peerless warriors whose sworn duty is to protect mankind from the predations of the xenos and the foul traitors of the Heretic Astartes. In a galaxy riven by eternal war, they and the other armies of the Imperium are all that stand between mankind and damnation. Their ship damaged by warp storms, the Ultramarines of strike force Cassian make for Kalides Prime. Also within this book is a host of awesome short stories to give you a flavour of the many warring armies that exist within the worlds of Warhammer 40,000.

Revisado: 10-16-21
Their is too little substance here. The amount of stories are too numerous. Leaving me constantly lost as to what is happening. The narrators are subpar as well.

Who cares about the remembrancers?!
Revisado: 08-10-21
A great and tragic story. My two critiques would be the narrator being lack luster, and the character perspective swaps. The title is who cares about the remembrancers because who really cares? I would get enthralled by the story of Magnus and his soldiers, but every other chapter it would switch to some unimportant civilian. I get that you want to see from multiple perspectives but give me another perspective thats interesting. Not some fat, old remembrancer!

Great book however a small critique.
Revisado: 05-17-21
I loved the story and especially loved whenever the story focused on the slave branded captains struggles and him overcoming them. My only critique is the pointless intros to every chapter. Especially the numerical recollections intros where the reading is forced to read number combinations over and over for minutes like this: 1212222000213431233301034343. Why!?

4 star for confusing stories and toilet audio.
Revisado: 04-07-21
I love the character the Doc puts on in his streams and his multiple forms of entertainment. However I like to be honest in everything I do. I understand this is a parody but jumping from one story to the next was a bit much. I'm glad he narrated it himself and that helped to make it a 4 star instead of 3 star review. The toilet audio and yea yea yea parts were classic but unnecessary. Regardless it was an entertaining listen.

What is up with this Narrator?
Revisado: 01-29-21
I have been listening to this audio book for about 5 minutes, and I already can't stand listening to this narrator. He doesn't know how to change the tone of his voice and inflection. top that off with an inability to fluidly read sentences, and you have a very sub-par performance. I am still going to try to suffer through listening to his droning on and on, just because I spent money on this audio book. Please evaluate your narrators before you have them read your books.
