I really enjoyed this book and its many characters, especially amateur sleuth grandmother. The marathon was well done and easily understood.
The only sad note is that this was the author’s first book and now I need to wait for her next book.

To me this was definitely not a typical Inspector Lynley novel considering the rather explicit sex scenes. For awhile I thought I was reading a pornographic novel. I was also worried about the absence of Barbara Havers throughout most of the story. I was quite relieved when she helped wrap up the mystery.
I did find the narrator annoying at first, but she grew on me and I found the entire plot riveting with the final outcome just out of reach till the end!
I’m just hoping to see more of Sergeant Havers in the next mystery.

It was a beautiful story, though at times a bit to repetitive. I had misgivings when I saw that Whoopi Goldberg was the narrator, but more than pleased with her narration. Between the story and the narrator I found it hard to put the book down and finished it in two sittings.

I’ve truly enjoyed Patterson’s Michael Bennett’ Series from the start. In fact I like it best if his books, except for the last book “Obsessed” which I found disappointing.
Crosshairs was excellent and full of new insights that has me looking forward to the next book in the series.
I enjoyed this book so much I’m going to go back to the beginning and start the series all over again ❣️❣️❣️

I often had difficulty in knowing who was speaking, was it the Artificial Intelligence, the Pregnant Wife in a “Coma’ or???? As for the story line it was quite interesting, but required paying attention to details and thinking about it (it was as if I was reading a text book🙄🙄). I thought I was reading a book of fiction, yet it feels like a History Textbook.
I gave up halfway through….

The entire plot was just too disjointed. The family problems ended up with little if any meaningful solutions, and the crime plot was never fleshed out and seemed to be wrapped up simply to end the book.
It sees the authors have grown tired of the series and are merely putting word on paper for another payday. It’s actually sad to see the demise of what could have continued to be an excellent series.

I found the narrator is excellent, maybe too good because I found he delivered the constant violence, pain and destruction in a most depressing and convincing manner. It seemed to be non stop and never ending.
I only listened to a few hours of the first book and decided to delete it and return it. It may end up with a happy ending but I’ll never know.

First I should have realized from the last book in this series that the narration would be sub-par especially after Rene Auberjonois or Scott Brick. The narration readily distracts from an already tenuous story-line.
There appears to be a rehashing of previous novels with no real growth or expansion on them to the point of losing my interest and determination that thi is the last "New Pendergast Novel" that I shall read. Thank goodness I have the previous 19 novel to reread.
Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child should look for a new subject/character to peruse.

I felt the narration was mediocre to say the least. It was if the narrator was bored and merely"reading" to book to stay awake. This definitely affected my poor impression of the plot which was lacking a definite Tom Clancy aura.
I was disappointed in this novel.

Having spent so many years hearing about the great Exploits of Travis McGee I decided to give the series a try. I enjoyed but was not overwhelmed in the first book, then I read this book (the 2nd in the Series) which left me thinking I’d read a poorly written book from the 50’s. I found the plot hard to believe and rather disgusting in its portrayal of women. Call me old-fashioned but the whole plot just put me off.
I’ll give volume three a try, but I’m guessing it will be my last Travis McGee book.
